How to remove the center console armrest

NICE, thanks for the DIY.
would you mind me asking about the cables exposed in the second image under the metal part number 4, i found those to be hanging there free but didn't know for what, and i don't have the rear DVD under the console
 
One is for the rear entertainment DVD player and the other one is for the 12V power port.
 
Just installed it. EASY.
Took only 10 minutes. The hardest part of the install was removing the four screws that held the lid in place.
So anyone needing advice? Make sure your screwdriver isn't dull..
Also on the first step when removing the back plate, I didn't remove the cigarette lighter plug..so that shaved a bit of time lol
Also for the flap covering the screws- I didn't remove it entirely, just pulled it back slightly so I could see the screws.

is there anyway to stop the creaking with this armrest?? Every time I hit a bump it creaks from the (2) half arm rest that slides forward. Irritating. ThankS

Honestly, I wish I knew what you're talking about... But I don't get the creaking noise. Then again, we have different consoles.

Dave, just stick a piece of black cloth or some sort of fabric lining between the post and seat to get rid of the creaking. I had the same problem and that get rid of it :wink:
 
Going to revive a old post.. Does anybody know if the 06+ years console lid would fit the 03-05?
the rattle is driving me insane!!! Lol
