I just got all my festoon dome light LEDs and going to change all the dome lights in my 2010 FX35 to LED. I can see that I can use a small flat head screwdriver I may leave a mark and I do not want to nick or scratch the hell out of my new FX35 or my wife will kill me so I am asking for your help to remove the lens safely, some one with 2009+ FX35 must have done this mod already please share your experiences.
how do you remove the white lens for the front, above doors, bottom of doors, cargo area, vanity mirror?
thankyou in advance

FireOnic3 has a thread on the whole thing.. do a search.. as for not damaging them, either buy plastic trim tools or use a thing screw driver wrapped with painters tape.. good luck.

I searched and no posts came up about how to remove the dome lens,
the lens on top of the rear door have no slot to insert the screw driver into, so anyone know how to remove the lens safely?

There is no place to insert the screw driver. I used a flat headed razor blade wedged in between to do it. But I wrapped it in electrical tape to protect from scratching something. Also use painters tape around the edges to protect the surrounding surfaces. It may seem like the cover doesn't want to pop off, but trust me it will. It just takes a little bit of elbow grease and patience.

Check out my mods thread in the lighting section. Mine came out great.

Just replaced my map lights and the 2 lights on top of the rear door with the 194 wedge base 5smd LED I have and it was bright as day in my FX35 now. Going to order 6 more of 5 SMD LED 194 wedge base to complete my full interrior light mod as the cargo area use festoon base led. I am going to de-solder the 6 SMD LED festoon base and custom make 3 of them together to make a 18 SMD LED panel with 194 wedge base to stick under my 2 front map lights.
I used a small metal ruler to take off the lens
for the map lights take off the lens from the rear first.
for the lights on top of the door take off the lens from the rear first.
For the lights under the doors, under the dash you can use a small flat head screw driver to take off those lens very easy.
For the cargo area you can use a flat head screw driver to take off the whole light assembly off the back door and the side then from its back side you can see a very small philip head screw that hold the clear lens, take off that screw and chage your bulb to LED.
Have fun modding.
