First of all big thanks to tchuck and all others for posting all this valuable information on here..

THIS GUIDE WILL GIVE YOU INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO HOOK UP AN AFTERMARKET 200W MONOBLOCK AMP TO RUN YOUR STOCK BOSE SUBWOOFERS. THIS, IN TURN WILL PROVIDE A CLEARER CRISPER BASS THAN THE STOCK BOSE AMP ORIGINALLY POWERING THEM.. AGAIN; LIKE ANY D.I.Y PROJECT, PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

i will be editing this as i finish the install and will post more pictures as well

What you need:
- a 200w monoblock 2ohm stable amp
got this 200w monoblock amp on ebay for around $40

- you need to pic up this Pac Soem-T Line Out Converter... ebay for under $20

- and also an 10 ga or 8 ga amp wiring kit... ebay for under $20

Instructions

1. Follow steps 1 - 6 on the following tutorial created by FXtion (https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=2811-DIY-Install-New-Amp-amp-Sub)

2. The Pac Soem-T LOC (Line Out Converter) should be hooked up based on the following diagram (thanks to tchuck for putting this together)
///7483[/ATTACH]

3. The Soem-t should be hooked up to the OE harness based on the diagram above..
4. The 12V, remote turn on and ground wires from the LOC should be connected to the AMPs designated 12v, remote and ground..

5. IMPORTANT: in order to compensate for the change in impedance, the factory speakers need to be rewired according to the following diagram:

6. Check all connections, bundle all your wires up.. NOW put you're main 12v battery lead fuse in and enjoy!!

SIDENOTE: you may want to purchase some sort of clip connectors from radioshack to put on the wires going from the amp to the speakers.. just in case you do need to use the spare and have the urge to "unhook" the BOSE "box" and get it out of the way...

more info, details and pics to follow!!

so i finally did the install and it is night and day over the stock amplifier running the bose subs... it thumps like crazy

here are some final pictures

the pac audio soem-t is hidden behind the plastics that the amp is mounted on to.. all the wires still need to be tidied up but for the most part it looks good and clean... the speaker wire coming out of the amp going to the subs is long enough that i can extend the sub box out of the car and put it on the floor outside the car incase i need to use the spare.. i also hooked up some butt connectors that i can unplug the subs to remove the box out of the way completely if need be...

the only issue is that i have static in the line, still trying to figure that out... could be the ground? maybe not good enough? not sure... its not alternator whine but just feedback... any suggestions or tips towards this?

A bad ground is a good place to start for humming. The ground from the pac should go to the amp, and from there to the nearest frame bolt with a large diameter cable.

2 things to add.... make sure you use the 30amp fuse that came with the amp wiring kit on the main lead from the battery, not the extra 5amp fuse that came with the amp.. (itll save you hours trying to troubleshoot wiring problems)

also, you may have to replace the 5amp fuse on the amp itself with a 10-15amp fuse... i think the culprit was that "higher speed higher volume" (whatever its called, can't think of it) feature on our headunits.. i had it on high and i have a feeling that that increased the gain on the volume and was too much input feed for the amp to handle

Is it not easier to install a amp screwed back on a subwoofer with two 12 and connect it to the original subwoofer speaker cable with a "high to low signal converter?
