How to get light scratch's off of hood?

So my cat wanted to jump on my show can, and there are some light marks on the hood. What would you guys use to get them off? Its a black car
 
No, there is no lip, its like from his paw or something were he slid some. Stupid cat!

Scratch-X has always worked well for me, as well as Nu finish Scratch Doctor. Both require massive elbow grease though (6-7 passes)
 
I second the opinion on Meguiar Scratch X and also Nu Finish. Both excellent products that work well by hand, but also will work well with a professional buffer and a foam pad.
 
I like Meguiars Ultimate Compound with a orbital buffer. Cheap, available at WalMart/Target, works very well, is very easy to use even if you have minimal experience and is very safe. Despite the name, it is a mild user friendly compound that breaks down to a fine polish, so it will remove scratches and leave a wax ready finish if you work it to a haze. It can be worked by hand, but will take more time and elbow grease...
