How to change brakes the proper way?

if yes then theres actually a metal clip on the caliper thats spupose to go in there, what it does i actually have no idea.

Those metal tabs are low pad indicators. They will scratch against the rotors once worned down.

Thanks guys, appreciate the information. I guess I can do without it on one side.
Will be doing the fronts in 2-3 months. But have to tell you guys the rear pads wear out twice as fast as the fronts and the FX braking is front biased.

If I remember correctly, when I bought new aftermarket rear pads for the stock brakes, only one side came with the wear indicator.
