How long are you planning on keeping your FX?

We probably should start hearing talk of it sometime around the end of 2014 through 2015. Infiniti models usually go through a 6-7 year cycle before a redesign. The 2nd gen has been out since 2009. So 2015-2016 should be about right.

Owned FX 35 Tech package since new . Now 140K and just did a go thru on car changing exhaust , rotors, plugs, belts , cold air intake & other maintenance items. Plan on going for 250k if it remains dependable as it has been. Best car I have ever owned all around.

I had my 2006 FX35 for almost 4 years... but now that we moved back to New England from SoCal... RWD was getting annoying in the winter and I could still get some great $$ for trading it in - so swapped it for a 2011 FX35 a week or so ago. The 2006 was a super-reliable car - never an issue aside from the battery dying once after it was super cold last winter.

Never I love this vehicle more than anything else I've ever owned... when it dies I will replace it with another one.

Loved my 2004, looking for at least 150k from my 2009 maybe get 2-3 years into the Gen 3 cycle depending what they come up with or keep on rolling.

I'm not sure what to do, but I am toying with 3 options. I have 20 months before I actually make the final decision. I have an 04 FX45 that I bought cash in 2010.

Option 1: I sell mine and replace it with an 09 FX50S.
Option 2: I keep mine and buy another 370Z as my fun/summer car. Own both.
Option 3: I sell mine and buy a GT-R (and possibly a more practical people hauler *think Prius* as a back-up).

Id go with the gtr or the 50, but only downfall with the gtr is it's very expensive to maintain.

If you got GT-R money then it should be an easy choice.

I'll be posting an ad on the Classifieds soon because I plan on selling my FX  I don't want to but just joined the Air Force and don't really want my car sitting around/paying for it while I'm away. I'll be leaving late April so if I could have a buyer by then that would be nice. When I get back I definitely plan on buying either a 2011+ FX50S or a 2010+ GTR.
If there's anyone that would be interested in my FX send me a pm and I will give you the details about it.
She will be missed

Hope the Air Force treats you well. I'm a retired Fighter Pilot (22 years' worth), so I naturally think you're making a great choice. Remember USAA for insurance when you're ready for your next ride. Only way to go for a service member.

Will you be parting out with anything or are you selling as is?

Good luck and have fun in the air force. You've got a pm.

Thanks and replied to pm

Had a lot of thought about it and confident there will be no regrets. Thanks for the tip on the insurance. Always see the commercials on tv and heard good things about them from a parents friend that retired with the navy.

I don't plan on parting anything out at the moment. Would like to just sell everything that's on it to make it easier.

Im currently looking for my first Gen.. Once I get mine I would never let that *itch go.. Wife is already asking "out of all the choices you have out there why another 1st gen FX why not at least a 2nd gen?" My answer .. Look woman you don't understand graduate, get your tesla and leave me alone..!! Once you find a vehicle with so many great characteristic and timeless design it's really hard to find a replacement.. So I'm positive that when I get mine it'll be a life long project.

I will keep my FX45 until I can get a used 2013 FX50S. I never buy new cars anymore, even if I can afford to, because after about three years the new cars can be bought 10's of thousands of dollars cheaper than when new after they get several thousand miles on them. Patience is a virtue. Unfortunately, I may have a long wait here in Ga. before I find a used 2013 FX50S considering hardly anyone here in Ga. ever buys the FX45 or FX50S period because most owners seem to have only the FX35 or FX37 models.:disapointed:
