I just read the megazine today, I saw a ad from AAA, it's about the extented warranty for the used car. Don't have chance to call yet.

I have the 2003 FX35 fully loaded with 38k miles..
I'm thinking to buy this AAA plan.

is there any one out there have this AAA plan? how is it? mostly covered like the ad said?

Please give me some ideas..

Thanks

Be careful with after-market warranties. no one want to pay,so they wait only till completely failed situations, and most of the time they try to blame like you drove to hard or redlined it while it was cold and etc. My suggestion read online what other people say about that company, go to BBB.com to see if there were any complaints about that company. But overall just save some $ for future repairs,as FX won't need much. But aftermarket warranties cost close to $3k or even more :iS:

Here's my thought. Find out what the premium is. Don't sign up and take that money and every month throw that into a savings account for just your car.

If something happens, you can use the money in that savings account. Granted there is a risk that you will have less than you need in there, or something happens right away before you can even build a savings.

But unless you have a lemon, most people here have had very good reliability with their FX's. I have 99k miles with only maintenance items or items going "old" (i.e. wheel hub bearing went out, oil changes, transmission oil changes, brake pads -- nothing major in my mind).

On the flip side, I also own a BMW. You better believe I got the extended warranty and extended maintenance plan (from the dealership). It cost about $3,000 but worth every penny as something always goes wrong with that car. And the cost to fix it is a lot higher than the FX. After three visits, the warranty already paid for itself.
