How Fast and For How Long

Anyone have numbers like these in their FX?
I bought an '04 silver 45 w/prem and tech package, 80K miles on 'er.
DSCF0134.jpg I was driving most of the way between 90-110 mph, because I slowed down for the town speed limits, and this included 2 stops, and McDonald's drive thru. I did shut down the engine when I was stopped.

hm interesting... i usually do cruise control @ 80mph for 100 miles twice a week and get an average of 22mpg. 93 gas, satisfied!
 
The laser cruise has a maximum setting of 90. For about half of the trip through MT, I used the cruise. The other half was in excess of that speed.
When I drove 75 or less, fuel economy was 19-ish. Faster really cuts into that.
 
Your mileage will be predominately be dictated by the driving conditions. Going down hill you will get a LOT MORE mpg and inversely driving up hill you will get a LOT LESS depending on how much you are stepping on the gas.
 
Not to worry, my 04 averages about the same...lol
Mine seems to settle in just under 80mph and gets the best gas mileage at that speed. It's far and few inbetween that she sees that for any great distance though.
 
In my 05' FX35 with 20 inches, my best gas mileage is around 60-65 mph. Hmm maybe I am doing something wrong.

I prefer around 80 mph in this flat state of IL. Anything to make the boring drive more interesting.:eek.:
 
I would say best highway mileage under 75, I got 19mpg.
75-90 is 17.5mpg
90 on up 14.5 mpg

This week I got 17.5 mixed town/highway.
