Alenas......did you hear it already. I've sold these mufflers here in holland and hope you have a mid muffler. These are going to be loud but then again the turbo's would silence them a bit i gues.

Should have been a little less emphasis on pretty and a little more emphasis on maintaining an even cap height. For an exhaust weld there is nothing wrong with it, and it will serve its purpose, but from a weld inspection standpoint it looks like a weld from someone who is worried far too much about looks rather than weld integrity.

My opinion, and I am not there to inspect the root penetration and maybe the picture just makes the variations in cap height look worse than they are. By no means do I think the weld would fail in radiography, but just keep in mind looks are not the main purpose of a weld, longevity and proper bonding are the two big goals.

Your putting your faith 100% in one company and you should. But keep in mind there is a lot of experiance here at the scene. Simular things have been done to FX's and Z's way before we came around with our builds. So keep debating with us and answer some questions. As why the didn't go foward with the custom intake manifold.....why they are not going to use solidt engine mounts for that amount of power. These are just 2 things i asked before and am curious off.

Yeah sorry I got a bit far from the topic, I do weld inspections on high pressure pipe, as well as service piping. In my industry pretty is not a goal, durability is a goal.

But in this case, this is not a fluid pipe, and the look does matter to a great degree. The weld is perfect for its application.

I simply meant that in terms of quality there really isn't much of a correlation between pretty and good in welding. I work in this industry professionally as do the welders whose work I inspect, and most of the time the welds I am looking at are hideous, but they are solid and will last a long time.
 
Haha i thought you would have a job like that. Gues everybody would have that in his one line of work. I am way to anal with stance wheelspecs offsets and tyre choices LOL

(Raymond) custom intake manifold the reason save money I will ask my shop how much more will be for extra dual intake manifolds.about engine mounts I will used one don't no which one like to go with.
Very tired of this car to be done.
Shop is saying like end off February.everything is almost done.
 
Cool....!! I feel your pain alenas. You've also been waiting way to long. And you want and have to be patient but at a certain point it isn't even funny anymore understand the pricing of the manifold but they were already working on it weren't they as you post pictures ?? So costs were already made .....don't know why they/you stopped it. There is a dual manifold for sale i believe. And the engine mounts i would discuss with them now it still reachable. Whem all is done its very hard to get to them. I didn't go for solids but did buy brand new onces just to be certain. Don't know how many miles are on your car ??

your build is at an entirely different level than my project but it takes time and then some. Hang in there man, you will have additional dial in work but in the end its going to make you smile.

Holy mother of god. When I saw this thread was bumped I knew it would be epic, but thats out of this world.

I'm not even going to ask about a timeline. Atleast this project is progressing at some rate, unlike another TT build on the scene *cough* TC6 *cough*.

Sorry I meant that in an encouraging joking manner. Not rude to either owner.

TC6 is perpetually busy as I understand, so I can appreciate that stuff gets moved to the back burner. I would just love to see his project completed.

Hope nobody took that the wrong way.
 
I wonder how big the money pit has grown. Nonetheless, I expect to see a video on the track...
