how do you like a sound of 850whp fx35

I have never seen or heard of ANY nissan automatic live at anywhere near the power levels being talked about here, no matter who built it... not even money no object type builds...

if a 7 speed can do it then I would consider swapping a 7 speed but I still think the 5 speed has a better chance of holding more power than the 7 just because the 5 speed is going to have beefier components in general...

Better off swapping in a TH350/400 or a Glide maybe. That's what the high HP, low 1/4 mile Z's run that don't have the 6MT.

not looking to loose the attesa awd or change the fx into a racecar... that would be easy, but also butcher the hell out of it & loose so much that makes the fx what it is to begin with...

exactly, you can turn the Fx into a shell and drop anything you want into it but it will lose it's personality...

yeah man, I had an 800hp worked twin turbo ls6 drive train in my hands & did think about it for a bit, but like you said at that point the fx was just a shell & it would have been nothing more than a butchered up race car at that point... love the fx & what it is way too much to do that to her...

op states they want to keep the awd too...

Some more info from the shop:

‎19 psi on pump gas, 27-30 psi on race gas. We are using the Up-Rev Osiris ROM editor software. We are a Pro-tuner for them and it is a great tuning tool for the 03+ Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. It allows us to tune the stock ECU just like a stand along FMU and it even has multiple switchable maps using the cruise control switches.

Jonas:
Can you tell us more about the SUV 800+hp build?

Fever Racing:
Sure, it is a full 4.3L stroked VQ35DE with JWT 272 Cams, Ferrea valves, Supertech springs, twin GT3076R Garrett turbos, Greddy turbo kit fabricated to fit, PE 800cc injectors, Cosworth fuel rails, custom dual fuel pump system with return, and a Level 10 fully built trans. and AWD to boot

Stu:
How much boost and how will it be tuned?

Found this build:

looking at post #6 seems somewhat comparable but on a Z not a SUV. It's 547whp using 1000cc injectors with manual trans so not sure how 800hp+ SUV can be reached using 800cc injectors on a Nissan automatic awd. Would it live long past 600hp let alone 800+? Has there been any rebuilt Nissan transmissions to be able to handle this, especially an attesa awd?
What do you think this will do in the 1/4 mile?
This has got to be one of your most exciting/challenging builds!

Fever Racing:
We have used the 800cc inj's on many builds and gotten high 700's whp #'s. Pretty confident there. If we need to upgrade we will as needed.

Fever Racing:
The trans was built by Level 10 in NJ. They guarantee to hold 900whp and say they have many people pushing over 1000hp in other applications. In truth, it is uncharted territory. It is certainly a unique and exciting build. We will make sure our customer is satisfied...

Agreed with you; the tranny will likely survive on the dyno since the load is lower, but with AWD, a couple of hard launches would probably kill it pretty quickly. With the weight of the FX and that much power, it's only a matter of time.

As an aside, Level10 says the tranny will hold 900whp, but they say a lot of things. They don't have the greatest history when it comes to claims like this. They seem to make ok parts kits, but in the past at least, their fully built transmissions were suspect. I almost sent them a spare transmission to have built back in the day, but then a few people started reporting that they were having issues w/ their fully built Level 10 trans. As it turns out, Level10 wasn't upgrading some of the parts they said they were simply because the beefed up part didn't exist. So transmissions that were supposedly rated to hold 500+hp were failing at under 400whp since most of the parts were OEM (only the VB, TC, and a few minor things were changed). Things are probably different now, but if I ever get deep enough into the FX to have a tranny built, I'd go w/ someone else other than Level10.

I do of course realize he's having the tranny built, but even so, I mean I wish we had the ability to really build to this level but never thought it was possible no matter who built it tbh... what examples are there of any nissan autos at anywhere near this power level?

shumby, I think 7 speeds going to be even worse because everything inside has to be that much smaller to fit 7 gears where there were only 5 before...

don't get me wrong, hell I wish what's being talked about here really was true, believe me, I'd much rather stay automatic than having to switch to a manual tranny, but up until now I'm thinking that even 700hp with auto isn't possible to do & still be reliable far as everything I've known about this up until now...

Just putting out info for another data point.

Mine is a Level 10 kit that was purchased from Level 10 and installed by a local transmission specialist. I asked the local shop for everything that came out of the old tranny, so I could see exactly what was replaced. Clutch plates and seals.

On the dyno, my 5AT with Level 10 internals, Transgo shift kit, B&W trans cooler & TC modification held until 450whp @ 19psi, where we witnessed the auto transmission begin to slip under WOT in third gear. Since then, I do not boost over 16psi (430whp)and daily driving I keep it at 12psi. The current limitation in my entire build is the transmission. With a larger turbo I could easily make more power.

Glad to hear about the plan for UpRev Osiris. Definitely the easiest and least expensive tuning option out there. In the hands of an experienced pro, it shouldn't be the tune that causes part failure, it will be the weakest link in the drivetrain. With the power levels we are talking here, I think you are going to find those weak links, as anybody building a project of this magnitude should expect.

A fast auto is awesome, have driven a 997T and it was sick how that thing ran thru the gears.

With the Z and G boosted automatics I've seen they require more boost compared to a manual. There may be some autos out there surviving lots of boost, but from all the forum reading I've done over the years none have actually survived abuse at high whp.

Hope you don't get taken for a ride.

I didn't abuse it too much, some fast launches and a brief run thru Mulholland. P cars are something to shoot for as a weekend fun car.

So I talke to the shop that build my transmission (level 10 in NJ) they sad that they give me a 2 year warranty ,I tell them that my car maybe will have 800-850 whp on (race fuel) they sad that no problem,if it braks or some think they will warranty for 2 years. That transmission they say will hold max 1000-1100 crank power.so will see how will play out.I will for sure give you guys up date. But like i sad the car will be done in march, its a lot of extra $$$$$$$$ a have to save.
