How can i make my dtrl look like this??

Well those are angel eye which many had done in the past but getting away from it due to inverter reliability issues. That picture is a blacked out interior housing with angel eye CCFL rings installed. Have a look through these posts and you will get an idea of how to do the mod. Not that difficult really.

not the angel eyes-i dont want to deal with those--just the dtrl is is just painted in the iside of the lense??

Like you said I believe it is just painted. I do remember the picture but I don't recall what method was used.

i have never taken these lights apart-the part that is painted is it the inside of the clear outer lense??? or does the dtrlhave a lense over it?

if it does does it come out or do you have paint the entire assembly and tape off the rectangle for light to come through?

I believe you can take the DTRL cover off. That cover is sitting inside the clear cover.

He said he sandblasted off all the chrome and then painted it with acrylic lacquer.
