Houston Performance Driving Fun Run to Galveston - Sat Nov 13th

This event is arranged by Troy every so often. It is a ton of fun. I am unsure if I am taking the FX though as it isn't really quick. I've attended in my M coupe, Z4, and ZX-6R, but those are long gone. Most likely I'll be on my 10R or as a passenger in a GT500.

Then again I might decide to take the FX lol. Just spreading the word for Troy!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S! Houston Performance Driving Members, Friends, Guests, and Lurkers!

Houston Performance Driving.com (HPD) will be hosting one of the largest cruise of the year. HPD invites you to join us for the South Coast Fun Run to Galveston Island. Past HPD G-Town runs have always been +150 to 300 rides. Performance domestics/imports, sport trucks, 4x4 show trucks, and power bikes. Please join HPD for one of the best cruises you'll have all year.

I. South Coast Fun Run Outline:

- There will be (2) meeting locations. (1) NORTH side meeting locations and (1) South side meet location.

- North side will rally up with the South side.

- After safety/route briefing the group will move to Lake Jackson for a pit stop at Buc-ee's for a fuel/refreshment/restroom break.

- The cruises will continue on to Surfside Beach where the cruise will turn up (NORTH) the Bluewater Highway to Galveston Island.

- TOLL BRIDGE: It will be $2 to cross the toll bridge per ride. HPD has a system that will get everyone through the bridge in 15 mins. We have done this with +300 rides and it works every single time. It will be explained at the SOUTH side meet location.

- Once on Galveston Island we will stop for eats/drinks @ The Spot on The Seawall. Once on location the top section of The Spot will be RSVP'd anyone on the cruise. Full lunch menu and full bar service as well. After you eat feel free to enter any of the bars at The Spot. Take this time to meet others from the cruise and discuss the event.

- Take your time and return to Houston at your leisure. There will be no return cruise to the Houston Area. Please be safe on your return trip home.

II. South Coast Fun Run NORTH/SOUTH Meet Locations/Times:

- NORTH SIDE meet location: (Address = 23750 US 59 North Kingwood, TX 77339) The massive parking lot between Kingwood Dr. and North Park Dr. Next to Texas Road House.

Map: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...897644&t=h&z=9

Please take a few minutes to get familiar with the map. Overlook the route and make sure you know which way we are going.

IV: Cruise Safety:

Ladies and Gentlemen. This will be a 100% SAFE Fun Run to the Galveston. There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for anyone driving unsafe. If you are reported to me for being unsafe and causing danger to others. I will talk with you 1 on 1 privately. If it happens again, you will be asked to leave. We have all spent tons of $$$ and wrench time on our rides. Lets NOT mess them up because one "show-off" was trying to be cool in front of Houston's Fastest Forum.

- Do NOT drive outside of your ability.
- Do NOT show-off unsafely.
- Do NOT tailgate others.
- Do NOT shoulder pass.
- Control your passengers.
- Use signals.
- Wear seat belts.
- Keep the N20 bottles closed and the boost on low.
- Use your head.

IV. Fun Run Gear:

- 2 Way Radio. (Will keep you informed on what's happening on the fun run)
- ID.
- Sunglasses.
- Vid camera or Go-Pro mounted camera.
- Comfortable driving clothing.
- Lunch $$$.
- Full tank of gas.
- Sexy copilot
- Clear inspection & registration.

Take the fx and haul ass!

Sent from my iPhone

I might, but I'll be at the back because although the FX is good, the transient responses is still not anywhere near sports car like. I don't want not to be able to stop and smack into someone else.

In 08 chasing down a new STS-V I went sideways on the freeway dodging something at XXXmph:eek.:
Actually I went sideways quite a bit that time, but that was the one where I wasn't anticipating it lol.

Still it was uber fun!

Here I am...

WOW beautiful car!! that's crazy riaz are you drifting in front of the po-po :)

Thanks she was beautiful! It looks like I was and I might have lit it up a little bit coming out of the gas station, but we were being escorted out of Lake Jackson by the local LE. Apparantly we were causing traffic congestion and there had been reports of vehicles travelling at very high speeds on 288. Couldn't have been us:smug:

This is what happened to my M in Ike (sorry about the blurry pic, all of them were the day we were allowed back to assess the damages). The structure next to her was the first floor on my moms house. I really miss that car. I should have got her out of there...but we were told once we left we will not be allowed back...plus the last two times we evacuated nothing happened. Live and learn...the hard way.

I'll be there. I'm driving a dark metallic green E90 BMW. I'll be with a red GT500 and a grey C63. Should be easy to spot the car I'm driving though, so if you're coming out come by and hang out, don't be shy.

In fact I was so incognito Brett (Viper) who was behind me got pulled by DPS. He was following me and we were both doing the same speed when we went past him. I hope Brett didn't get any tickets.
Gonzo in the red 08 GT500 also got pulled over as well as a black C5 vert and the cops just waved me through. Gonzo received a warning for no front plate, nothing for speeding. This made me the first car at the toll bridge hahahaha.

SICK Mustang Cobra
Yes sir, that mystic chrome was possibly one of the best put together cars there. Had a twin turbo setup, probably good for 700WHP or more. A couple FI guys were running race gas too lol.

I took the Miata up to the North side and met the group up there, rolled out as far as 610 South and then headed home. Sorry I couldn't make it down to Galveston, but the weather was perfect.

It's cool. There will always be another one. Next time your FX is going to be ready.

Troy revamped the HPD forum, it is now more user friendly IMO. I plan on attending more of their events in the future because I have the time and kinda miss going out.

I hate saying this but I am glad I didn't take my 45 out there...lol.
