Horn sounds weak all of a sudden

I noticed when I set the alarm on my FX with the remote the horn sounds weak all of a sudden. It sounds kind of squeaky and low pitched.

Any ideas? We just had a huge monsoon like rain storm here the past two days but I'm not too sure that has anything to do with it. All I know is that the horn doesn't sound the same anymore.
 
Bypass the connection and jump it to the battery directly to test it. By what you are saying, sounds like water got in it.
 
Anyone ever replaced their horns on a FX with one of the ones like the STI guys who get red and blue colour ones? I think they replace them with Hello Supertones.

Hella supertones sound like a louder subaru horn, they don't belong on a car the size of an FX, IMO.
 
I had a similar problem a few months back. Test which horn is busted by having a buddy press your horn while you feel the vibration from the individual horns by feeling it with your fingers through the grille. I replaced mine by replacing it with a set of PIAA 500Hz and 600Hz horns based on a recommendation from a member here.

I hated the sound of it, sounds like an excitable girlie car so I removed it and went back to examine closely my busted horn. On close examination, I found out it was just the flimsy contact wires that was loose. I did a new rewiring, soldered it and mounted it back.
