Horn not working properly

Have you guys ever had a problem with your horn? Horn works when you use remote lock, but when some a$$hole cut me off really bad yesterday, I tried to honk at him and nothing happened!

The horn doesn't sound when pressed on the steering wheel.....really weird

Must be something in the water, mine has done the same thing. Maybe a fuse?

Damn, i think it's due to the horn switch inside the steering wheel. Doesn't sound easy and lots of $$$ to fix at the dealer......

From S. Bay Infiniti:
"We had to repair a wire at a
multi junction below the BCM in the main harness" Due to water corrosion near the battery area.......

weird.

I have the same exact problem, it works when pressing the remote to lock but nothing on the steering wheel :eek.:

Horn

My horn quit working. Doesn't even work when I hit the key lock. All fuses work properly. Turns out, its the IPDM and the part is $750. Sounds like the 2004 FX has lots of horn issues and we shouldn't have to spend $1k to alert someone that is coming into our lanes. No recalls yet, but maybe if enough of us complained to Infiniti, they'd do something?:mad.:

IMO, It must be something wrong with the clock-spring.

Jump the relay in the engine bay horn will work then remove battery under the battery harness going to ipdm there is a blue wire 3 blue wires conecting together it's corroded reattach them horn works

sorry to bring up an old thread but hopefully someone can help.. i haven't tried the fix from FxBroWn yet and i'll do that but i would like to know before pull out the battery. it was a pain in the ass to get in and out.

the 15A fuse is good and the relay is good (i bought a new one and plugged it in)
i jumped the connections and the horn works
the horn doesn't work from the steering wheel or key fob remote

i don't know which pins are which but if you look at the attached pic of the socket where the relay plugs in, i'll call the top one 1, left 2 and right 3.
jumping 1 to 3 makes the horn work and outputs 12.54v
jumping 1 to 2 outputs 11.96v. when horn is pressed, it goes to 12.28v
jumping 2 to 3 outputs .36v. when horn is pressed, it drops to .15v
