Yeah, I found the new ones to be pretty strong. The hood flies up and rattles once it hits the top now. Took some pictures for the install.
Use a screwdriver to pull back the tab that holds them on and they slide right off. Probably the hardest part, especially if you're trying to hold up the hood with one hand at the same time. You can either hold back the clip and pull the strut off, or if you pull the clip far enough it will catch in the "open" position and you can pull it off as well.
After I got it off I cleaned the dirty mount and then regreased them.
And new one on. Do one at a time, and recommend having someone hold the hood when you pull off the old ones. I tried propping it, and the prop fell over. One new one can hold up the hood, but chances are one old one won't be able to.
I purchased these off Amazon for $40 and free shipping here:

They mention 1-2 weeks I think, or you can buy expedited. I did not get expedited and they shipped same day I ordered and arrived two days later from SoCal.
This is the companies website:

And this is the product on their site:

I guess they have their own branded version. Only difference I see is it's a little cheaper and doesn't say made in USA. Their Amazon prices were cheaper that on their site.
