Hollywood007's Super Charged ProjectFX

Just base the power numbers with the 50. If that thing is only running 6 second 0-60 then apparently the second has gotten shorter.

If the FX50 390hp does 0-60 in 5.0 or up to 5.2 in some tests I've read depending on who is doing it.
If hollywood is getting about 540 hp (right?) and eating up a ton more gas doing it, I guess he should be doing 4s, otherwise what would have been the point? I'm slightly confused here.....:confused.:

wow man, congrats on the beast... did the fx leave the shop with the tune at over 500hp? I'm pretty curious about the transmission at those kinds of power levels, are the 7 speeds supposed to be much stronger than the 5at's were?

^^^ I know this is a gay way of doing it, but I'm very curious and from the above video, I've done several stopwatch runs with the 1st 0-60 run and 2nd 0-60 run in the above video and got both runs and several redos of the runs to be 5.9 seconds using my stopwatch at home.

I've done the same taking a few 0-60 runs from some youtube videos of FX50 and have on all of them gotten about 5.3 on my stopwatch multiple times and from multiple videos. Knowing the FX50 does around 5.1 or 5.2....my stopwatch timing is matching up near with statistics, and if Sam was gunning on Hollywood's ride, I'd suspect near 5.9 0-60 run.

But I don't get it considering 540 hp and I'm sure more torque so I would have thought mid mid or low 4s no????? I also would expect squeeling from start especially with vdc off and I think the ride is 2wd, not AWD like the FX50, which I've been able to get a small squeel from start at times with vdc off.

I can't wait for more videos and an official 0-60 run time with all that hp and torque, but the current videos don't seem to match up with what the car is really capable of??? :confused.:

And dam that ride looks so hot....makes me want to go stealth each time seeing the ride! :)

yeah i'm pretty curious, if hollywoods FX puts out 550HP it should be doing high 4's at least if the FX50S with 390HP does 5.1-5.3 (not to mention the extra weight)

i'm also curious as to what they did with the transmission to handle that much power

It probably has something to do with the differences of how power is delivered between a supercharged V6 and a NA V8. I'm sure this beast can definitely walk on a FX50 at higher speeds (freeway speed acceleration), maybe we need a video of that.

So many factory 0-60 numbers got me confused. I've seen as low as 6.1sec for RWD FX35, and some people say it's over 7 sec. I'm sure it's alot faster than 7 sec because my last car was 7 sec and it felt alot slower.

Either way, this is amazing!

Nice you got it back. :smile (2):

I haven't many GTM SC kit dyno sheets. Think they say stg 1 on a 370z is 460rwhp 360rwtq. This is not a vq37hr so I would expect power numbers to be lower, add in the 24" wheels and I would guess the drive train loss will be higher.

Having dyno'd on 22's before and dyno'ing on my 18" drag radials the differences were pretty noticeable. 22's weighed like 70-72lbs, the 18s I think weighed 50-55 or something. Torque numbers were 70+ difference with the heavier wheels.

There so many factors comes to play in the 0-60 calculation. One real important one here is that the FX35 has 3.357 FDR (Final drive ratio) while the FX50 has 3.538. Also having those massive wheels with their huge rotational mass is not helping.

So in order to really calculate the 0-60 accurately between an FX50 and a supercharged FX35. You will need both vehicles to have the same Final drive ratio and the same wheel size to start with and run them against each other, other wise anything else is a guessing game.

Tony, change you finale drive 4.08 and with the power you have, probably you will be in the hi 3 second 0-60 .

Yeah I remembered those big wheels and realized that has to hurt a little. Definitely a lot of room for improvement, but the big change is out of the way!

As a newby, I just spent the last 1.5 hours going through this thread. Great stuff Hollywood. There are some advantages to being green...

Didnt even think about that. The stock 21 FX50 Enkei rims are supposedly the weight of standard 18'' rims due to its high quality lightweight racing / performance manufacturing according to Nissan. I'm sure that adds a decent difference in comparison to 24s.

Interesting stuff! Now it's a war between looks and performance!

Who needs 24s :smile (2):

Nice numbers compared to the 350z hr. Not familiar with your stages. Baseline for the FX was 259/235, guess those 24" wheels didn't make much of a difference on the dyno compared to the Z's baseline.

The 350z uses our stage 1 kit witch comes with the Rotrex C38-81 trim, The FX35 got the stage 2 kit which utilizes the C38-91 trim. There is 17% of CFM difference between the 81 and the 91. Also due to much more room to work with on the FX chassis, the FX Super charger kit got bigger intercooler, bigger IC piping and most importantly bigger intake. Our best # on the dyno were were 486 RWHP and 392 RWTQ still on 91 octane. With better fuel and more boost i have no doubt that we can brake the 500 RWHP .

As for comparing dyno baseline #'s between the 350z and the FX vs Wheel size .... I'll let you worry about that.:smile (2):

what psi is it running? That z is at 10, so wondering if this is more.

12 psi

We are preparing a complete write up of the supercharger kit with a lot of pics of the kit and its components, dyno graphs, video with my taste of music and introductory pricing so stay tuned.

Here is another video clip in the meanwhile.
