Hollywood007's Super Charged ProjectFX

Hey Tony, good to see ProjectFX is continuing on, glad to see things are moving forward.

And shumby likes to kid, he does have a lot of time when he's stuck in foreign countries, and does love his internet banter.. :P

There were some early STILLEN supercharged G's with interesting tuning issues, as with any new tuning software and new kits there was some hurdles, which include UpRev's programmers working with our engineers to get things rectified, which included a ton of increased UpRev abilities, including help with the ECU's management of the transmission, which unfortunately shumby didn't have access to (as our work with UpRev hadn't happened yet) and had some transmission issues with GTM's kit.

As with anything in the forced induction world, and especially with Nissan/Infiniti's that give ZERO support when it comes to tuning, there are challenges.. thankfully those have been resolved, and there are a large amount of happy STILLEN supercharged customers, more every day.

Tony your FX is looking fantastic! Glad we got those AP's on there, sounds like you'll need them.. :)

Ya my trans issues sucked. Still on my spare trans but it now has the updated tune and is holding up well. But still rebuilding the old ones.

Tony you better tell me how those AP's are working out for you after the extra power I need to update my BBK and I think AP is where i am heading

@Josh: due to cost of R&D and manufacturing, you gave up on an intake for the 2nd gen FX. Also didn't produce any suspension parts, strut bars etc, for the same reason. Thankfully GT spec has stepped up on the latter, but with more and more 2G's out there, do you see a possibility that production of a proper intake would resume?

^^^ PMG lets keep hollywoods thread on track. I am guilty of derailing it too. Lets start a parts request thread for stillen.

It's not the cost of R&D on the intake, it's due to the differences in the vehicle. We routed the piping through the front core support on the 370Z/G37/350Z/G35 by enlarging pre-existing holes. Those don't exist with the FX35 Gen 2. We catch enough flack with just minor trimming on the other applications, and expecting a customer to completely make the hole in the core support just didn't seem likely. We have concerns with intake piping routing into the fenderwells, as you can imagine it leaves a ton of potential for water-based catastrophes..

In regards to the strut tower brace, just an overwhelmed R&D department with tons of new products and applications, and unfortunately it hasn't been worked on just yet. Suspension-wise, we really didn't do much for the FX's outside of support the other manufacturers we work with and distribute. Happy to discuss any new products, we're open to development, and always look at customer demand for products.

Tony I apologize, I didn't mean to derail your thread either, sometimes questions get asked in different areas.. :)

: Wow, you guys are all over the place on here!

@Shumby- I had a choice between Brembo's & AP when I was deciding on doing the BBK. I'v got a couple buddies that compete in the drift & rally scene, & after talking with them I went with AP (Brembo wasn't happy about that at SEMA BTW Josh! lol) I drive fast, and I brake late! the AP's have been my favorite mod thus far by far. Josh is on top of his game across the boards, I love the fact that Stillen was cool enough to work with me on my little ProjectFX.

@Josh- they are right! a lot of people want a 2ng gen intake system... Injen was only able to get +5HP out of their version, you guys have to be able to do better. I'v got several friends out here with 2nd gen's that would be happy to get in there for some R&D if you guys ever do pull the trigger. Hope all is well brother!

+1 to the AP Racing & Stillen's BrakePros. I did a ton of research and ended up with AP Racing 6 piston front and 4 piston rear -- best mod ever. Any car I buy now will now have an AP Racing BBK if Stillen makes it.

Ed they do.

I was at stillen about 3 weeks ago and picked up an exhaust set up for my M45.

I told him to give me quote for the 8/6 set up. Wow.. the price is very high.

I would probably save about 1,000 if I go with Rotora.

Just read through this thread and all I have to say is WOW!

Hollywood, the FX is looking just how I want mine to turn out, I just posted a chop before I realized that someone had done pretty much everything already.

Looks great, can't wait to see final HP/TQ numbers

Hey buddy,

I appreciate that my man! You've got me beat already you know, I mean your rockin a 50 my man! I posted on your thread my thoughts about the rails, keep us updated as your build goes on.

Have fun with it!!!!

sorry to bug hollywood but any word on this?? did you end up getting your baby back?

not bugging at all my man! in answer to your direct question..... No, I haven't gotten her back yet. Rumor has it (take it with a grain of salt), that Saturday is the day. I'm supposed to be in Vegas this weekend, so that very well could end up being a Monday adventure. It's been on the dyno this week, and they are tuning it using UpRev. A couple tweaks & mods here & there, and she'll be back in my hands before I know it. #FingerCrossed
