Hollywood007's Super Charged ProjectFX

can wait to see it lowered.

+1 of the rails, I like them on my 1st gen..hopefully you will like them , thats all that matters.. have you seen a Cayenne w/o rails? looks weird also.

She's going over to Eibach for R&D.. They should have them available for purchase within 6 weeks of getting my car back.. I'm working on getting a promo code put together for all you 09'ers out there....
Your ride is looking sweet:tup:

That is also good news about the Eibach springs for the 2nd Gen. Please keep us informed about the progress.

Back to the roof . . .
Here's a fun thought I've never seen on a FX. How about you cut the roof out and put in a panaramic glass roof? You'll have the black roof look from the outside and have one of the greatest FX mods ever!

Rather expensive it could be with the extensive custom fabricating and special custom glass. But wow, I'd love to see it!
It's got to be less than $10k. (without sponsors)

Hey Buddy...!! You do know that KW is going to make a Coilover system for the new FX right....?? :tonguey:

Just like how Eibach and H&R were making one a year ago right?

YEah could be. I sell KW here in the netherlands ( i'm a dealer ) and called KW direct a few times if they could arrange a production on the old model. Only thing they offered was a one off wich was to expensive for me a s i have to many other things going on right now.
They then told me the owner of KW bought a new FX and they would probably make a set for that model. No updates yet on that though.

Do know import image with BC is asking for a new model FX to use as a prototype...

Hmm interesting about the owner having one. That definitely helps things move along. KW is really good too, but I bet it will be expensive.

One off as a dealer would cost me 2500,- Euro's ( INOX V3 version ) so almost 3K USD. But i cannot go much lower with my bodykit so have to go for the HLS ( KW's Hydrolic Lift System ) kit up front as well wich would also set me back another 3K for the front only as well.

So then 6K would be just too much.

I could tell by the background that the shop works on alot of Infiniti's and Nissan's doesn't it?

Are you having the whole car repainted? Or what panels?

dude, please don't take what I'm about to say the wrong way cause I don't like to criticize anyone else's work & not looking to hate, I'm only telling you this as I would tell any one of my friends really & just looking to help, but those bumpers really should be removed for paint, especially with a 3 stage pearl that will get a thicker film build to begin with. if they paint it all assembled together like that there are several drawbacks & the only reason would be to cut costs.

first of all the seems & edges will not be wrapped with paint, instead the paint will just be up to the edge. this can lead to the edge lifting & peeling eventually, not to mention it will also make the paint work much more detectable & noticeable... the grille should be removed and the bumper parking sensors should also be removed from the bumpers which requires the bumpers to be removed, just painting over them with the bumper together will also give you crappy edges around the sensors & again chance of peeling in these spots in the future too, plus again make it much more detectable, plus added film thickness on the sensors is also a bad thing for sensitivity. painting them should be avoided. the tail light should be removed & even the rear door belt molding, all these things are the difference between a good undetectable job or not, both now & in the future.

also, the parting line at the lower bumpers where the paint ends & the lowered texture part begins, if they just tape it off the way they have, that too will be an area of less than good, that break line takes a lot of extra prep to look crisp & they should use a fine line tape at that edge like what is used to create graphics for a clean line, else it'll look off. if your picky you will see all these things & they could be avoided with a little more prep now, before it's painted. once it's done then it's too late. it may cost you a few hundred more to disassemble the 2 bumpers but again if your picky then well worth the extra effort, just trying to help bro... the difference between really good paint work & not so great lies at the edges of the painted panels, def pays to address these things if you can

Good point about the sensors. My dad had his rear bumper repainted and they did not remove them and practically ruined the sensors. They would constantly beep and it was a big hassle to fix. He might have had to get new ones, can't remember exactly what he did about it though.

^Agreed! Someone on Myg37.com had their backup sensors repainted with the rear bumper on their 2010 G37, and now everytime they put the car into reverse the parking sensors no longer function properly. They constantly keep beeping all the time.

Hey Turbo, that's some really good info you got there. Anytime I need something repainted, I'm coming to you! It sounds like you really know your stuff bro! Good info =]

Wow, great write up! I'm gonna call them first thing in the morning...Good looking out turbocad6! Wish I had been able to read this earlier.. I don't care if they did already do it, I'll have them do it all over again the right way.. I'm prepping the car for SEMA, it's needs to be perfect... Thank you so much for helping me out with this, I would have never known to ask that stuff...

She's still under construction, but here's some teaser shots.. She heads over to Eibach on Monday, then back to the body shop for last minute tweaks next Friday.. Hoping to have her fully done (until the next "idea" comes along) 2 weeks from now... Still waiting to get the new front grille and the wheels back from getting powder coated....
