I should have done a more extensive search on this site before dropping $40 for a set of Hoen Xenonmatch. They are a lot whiter than the stock bulbs. Makes the stock ones look yellowy. That is until I turn on my headlights. Then the Hoen's look kinda yellow. Still not a good match.

I was trying to avoid the HID fogs.

How bright would a 120 SMD led H8 bulb be?

I had Hoens on my FX in the past too. They are very white compared to the stock HIDs. I don't think the SMD LEDs will do anything. I think they wont be much use, output wise, it would probably just look nice and draw less power. If you are trying to avoid HID fogs, then getting new HID bulbs is probably the better, easier alternative. You can try Morimoto 6000K HIDs like many of us here. It won't be an exact match, but will be much better in terms of looks color-wise.

Our FXs' headlights come with HID ballasts as stock equipment. The headlight bulbs are a direct swap. I was suggesting that you keep your Hoen fogs and upgrade the headlight bulbs to Morimotos instead, if you did not want to go the HID route with the fogs.

I never had an aftermarket halogen perform well, even expensive PIAA's. They always die on me. I wear gloves, etc... and still.

HID fogs is the way to go or leave your stock bulb in the fogs.
