HKS exhaust FX35

thats the picture that is on HKS's site - perhaps the production version is different, or perhaps it's been revised, I don't know, I've yet to have one in stock

Yes, it's misleading. It's an Mazda RX-8 I believe.

Here's mine (yes a bit dirty):

that's on an RX-8, hence it looks really different.
edit: oh so it is a single muffler set-up. at least these tips are round and not oval shaped.

I think that's an Mazda RX-8, but I'm not positive.

EDIT: You beat me to it Stu! and everyone else it looks like.:embarrassed:

i would consider it, but does it come with a y-pipe also? i really want a nismo though. pricing would have to be really good to make it worth getting over a used nismo.

Ray, did you mounted yours?

Let a collegue of mine do it as the tips needed to be cut of for my tips. Ran into a bit of trouble concerning the y-pipe i think. the mid section resornated against i think a swaybar or something. Didn't see it myself just heard it. Called my collegue and he went ohh yeah i saw that there was little space.

Some people just mount what you give them and don't call if they think there are any issues :err:. So couple of days later he change the angle of the y-pipe a bit wich solved my problem
Haven't driven it much cause my whole dash is empty due to the "I see Blue" mod and other things i'm busy with for the "winter Mod" but it's sounds really great. Louder then the fx on youtube but that would be to expected due to the headers and y-pipe.

HKS makes great stuff but man the tips they put on this catback looks horrible!!

They're not that bad, here is my HKS.

The tips itself aren't that bad in my opnion. The way they mounted (welded ) them on to the muffler could have been better. You realy see that there are to lose tips shoved into a bigger pipe diameter and then welded on to it.
Didn't mind that much in the end as i took them of instantly for my owns.

Also their is no sign or logo it's from HKS wich made my doubt a bit when i got it, cause bought it from someone on ebay, but it's got the box and all the papers as well so should be Ok.

Sounds that i'm not that happy with it,but again i am. Furtheron great system and sound. Performance i haven't tested yet

Sound ... HKS, Nismo, Stillen all will give the FX nice tone. I think what is matter is performance. For me, performance is the distinguisher between them. I will not pay $$$$ for just nice sound.
Also congrats for the Legamax Ray

hks tips looks awful..
Agreed... I don't like how short and stubby they are. From the back they look cool being that they're rounded/rolled ends, but you start moving to the side just a tiny bit and you see how stubby they are

My stubby:tongue:... Either way you could always change the tips.
