HID Kits (wattage)

Hi all!
This issue has been bugging me and it hinders my HID Kit purchase.
Our Sienna didn't come with HID's but it has a projector type headlights; H11 @ 55Watts (low beam). Question is, if I upgrade it to HID's, should I go for the 55W ballasts & bulbs (since the original lines are for 55W)? Any downside with the 55W HIDs?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, here...
I'm leaning towards the 55W for it's (extra..?) brightness. I don't have to worry about incoming traffic/drivers getting blinded 'cause the projectors has cut off lines. Now, with the 55W HID's, it shouldn't melt anything from the bulb housings, right? -since the original also runs on 55W bulbs-

Sienna's stock headlights (imo) are just too weak!

Thank you!

55 watts is the light output. Hid bulbs are much hotter then a normal halogen bulb. A 55 watt hid is insanely bright and hotter. I don't see to many vehicles with those 55 watt hids. I personaly don't think it's a wise choice.

Ok, understood! I'll go with 35W. I don't need any trouble changing messed up (headlight) housings.
Thanks Bklynjohn718!

55 wtt Hid's are REALLY for offroad use....they will blind oncoming drivers and the people ahead of you in there rearview mirrors. I hate people that have the 55wtt kits! Mostly you see them around here in their lifted Chevy's or Fords's that use reflective lenses instead of projectors..blinds everyone!

If you do plan to get the 55wtt, You absolutely need the extra wiring relay harness too. 55wtt hid's take a lot of power to start them up. It is much safer to use the aftermarket wiring relay kit.
