HID Fog Lights: 35w vs 55w?

I think you'll get more light output from a 55W HID kit than a 100W halogen bulb.
Just get a HID kit 3000K ( 35W or 55W )

Thanks, that was my plan. I came across the 100W and that seamed like to much. There is a honda at work who uses these bulbs and they get hot. The glass on his fog's gets to hot to touch.
 
I would not put anything higher than 6000K cause it will not match with the stock color, also the housings are not design to handle the 55W H.I.D. and the 35W are bright enough, just have to angle them correctly. I have replaced mine with the Projector Fog Light kit from eBay. They look even better with the OEM headlights and now they are BOTH projectors. :eek.:
 
didn't see this until after i bought the bulb.....but i'm guessing you guys wouldn't recommend "12V 100W 5000K HID Light Bulb"

the output seem to match the stock headlight closely, but would I be doing damage being that it is a 100w bulb?

For the Fogs? 55's will most likely get too hot inside the enclosure and cook it. 100's will definitely toast it.
 
yes, for the fogs. i did notice that it got really hot as soon as i turn the light on, so i decided to do some research, and that's how i ended up finding this thread....i knew something wasn't right.
 
The 35's are of course not nearly as bright as the 100's (I've never seen the 100's so that's a guess) are but they look quite bright.
 
Can anyone confirm if these will work on my 04 fx35. I currently have hid fogs and looking to put these in. There 80w. Can I use these with the hid kit or not. Would they burn up my wires or something.
 
Do not use the new 100w ballasts / 75w or 80w output kits. 55w in the headlights blind people, another 20w is rediculous. In the foglights, 55 watt is more than plenty. Remember these are not driving fogs, they're dispersion fogs.

In order to run these, you must plan to do some rewiring, thicker wire will be required to run this draw. You will probably be willing to keep changing the headlights housing due to the exsessive heat produced. According to tests I found( think on candlepower.com), these can heat upto 130* in just 30 minutes in open air....can you imagine the heat produced in an enclosed headlight?
