Hey everyone... i've been looking around here for a bit but finally decided to join so I could get into the action. I drive a 2007 FX35 RWD, and i've had it for about 2 months now. Originally it was my parents car, and I actually helped them to test drive it & ultimately purchase it when we got it about 10 years ago. My VW recently died, (it was a nightmare and is a longgg story) so I ended up buying it off of them, which allowed my pops to buy his first new car, (2020 Audi A6) which ultimately worked out well for everybody!
I grew up heavily in the import scene (had a 1993 FD RX7 w/ some bolt on's, an Acura TL type s, a 2 door accord, etc.) and have more recently gotten into the Euro car scene, including 90's-00's BMW's, & AMG's. I've always loved the FX, so I'm really grateful to have it, and fell in love with it all over again. I already replaced fluids, changed the air filter, & got some black vinyl to re-do the window trim pieces that have weathered & faded in the sun. The exhaust needs to be replaced (it's rusted out, we used to live in PA) which i plan to swap out with an aftermarket one eventually. It actually sounds great right now as is, so I don't mind it for now.
I'm planning to get get wheels, lower it, wrap some of the trim pieces in carbon fiber, and bring the look to an stock plus look, nothing too crazy. I am thinking about building the motor a bit, but chances are I'll end up with the basics since I haven't seen a whole lot of options for any decent gains other than forced induction.
Regardless, i'm excited to have the car as my new daily driver, and looking forward to getting to know everyone here on the boards. Thanks, and hope everyone is staying safe during these crazy times.
