Hello FXers...just want to introduce myself. My name is Hailo from New Orleans, 32yrs old. I've been a long time admirer of the FX. With a baby coming soon, I was looking to upgrade my Acura CL-S to a SUV. I'm still indecisive between the FX and MDX. MDX has alot more space but the FX just looks so much better. I haven't test drove any yet, and wanted to get your opinions on those who have driven both cars.

Thanks,
Hailo-

i test drove both... the mdx was nice, the navigation was superior, and it had more room.
but as im a member of this forum and not mdxscene, ill let you guess which one i feel is far superior.

hey welcome to the scene!!!!!

go with the fx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha

p.s. mdx is a mom car lol

Welcome!

Both are great vehicles for very different reasons. MDX has room, fuel economy, and more room. FX is about the looks, performance, and sexiness.

My wife and I are doing just fine with our five month old in the FX. The car seat fits a little tight, but nothing worth complaining about. Two kids? Then I'd need more space.

well if it was you personally, you shoudl not get the mdx becuase it seems associated with moms. but since she lieks the fx also, you should DEFFFFFFFFF GET THE FX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that's why your here, right?

that's exactlyyy why i'm here! for the love of the fx. i didn't even bother looking for a mdx forum.

well in that case.....

the fx it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i recommend getting the sport and tech package, and poss. the touring package....and you're all set. unless your lookin to do some extreme modding that is.....then its best to go bone stock.

anyways....

get the fx!!!!!!!

hey, I'm an "ex" Acura driver myself... I had a 02' TL-S... (are you in AZ btw? You'd know what it stands for if you are). But, I'm here... and never once considered the MDX... The new style is alright... better than the 1st gen... but just too many angles and shape corners IMO. I would even consider the Buick Encore or Encave or whatever it's call before the MDX... but nothing comes close to the FX in it's price bracket... The only other crossover I like is the Cayenne Turbo (NO, on anything less than the Turbo), but we're talking mucho $$$. I'm also looking forward to the BMW X6, but again... $$$. ....so, just get the FX

anyway, welcome to the Scene... and congrats on the baby

interest peaked...
what does TL-S stand for in arizona
tastes like snot?
try licking sand?
two loose sex-addicts?
and the winner is...two-lesbian sandwich

I have both. Although the FX is a way cooler ride, it holds nothing in the back except for a few groceries & a travel stroller. Whenever we go on extended fam trips, the MD gets the go. For longer rides, FX is for me & my stag trips to Vegas.
MD will hold the kids bikes standing up, & the wifey can easily reach back & reset the sippy cups. IMO, They're two pretty diff. vehicles . . . I say get both

ashley... what are you "on"?!?!

btw, the "AZ" I was referring to wasn't the state but "Acurazine" (it's a forum)

MDX seems a lot more family oriented. a lot bigger and more roomy. plus with the new engine its pretty powerful too.
also with their new dampening suspension i think the ride will be a lot softer over bumpy surfaces compared to the FX, the FX is sometimes said to be harsh and stiff compared to many other SUVs because of its sportiness.

I looked at the MDX before I got my FX also. I picked the FX

1. It looked more sporty & it wasnt that many FX's on the road at the time.
2. The Infiniti Dealers didnt ignore me when I was on the lot shopping
3. I went to 3 differnt Acura dealers and not 1 person came up to me, probably cuz I was dressed down, with my baggy jersey & cap.
4. Got a pretty good deal @ Costa Mesa Infiniti.

I actually like the new body style of the MDX. Its much better than the older ones.

I love the fx it's just the right size for me & my wife & one kid & even the mominlaw sometimes, but if I was to go bigger & still sexy, I think I'm drooling for the audi Q7... what a beauty that thing is. if the fx is enough room it's a great vehicle choice, almost in a league of it's own... awsome vehicle

I may be wrong... but the newer MDX body style has a optional 3rd row... making it a 7 seater... (tho, I might be thinking about the newer X5... or it could be both)

+1 I love the look of the Q7: lower it a tad and throws some Big wheels and were set to go.

That happened to me and my friend too. we were just going around to the dealerships to test drive cars. even the people at BMW and MERCEDES came to talk to us, NOT ONE PERSON from Acura came to talk to us or anything. that being said there wasnt really anything in their line up that appealed to me anyways but seeing how the higher classed companies treated us well and Acura didnt it gave them a bad name in my books forever.
