Not really, I have been lurking for a while and I will be buying my wife a 2008 fx35 in the next week or two. This board has been quite helpful. I have seen a nice AWD FX. Is the AWD really worth having if it does not snow much where we live?

if it doesnt snow alot. then go with RWD

I have also seen a 2007 AWD Berylium color FX35 with sport and tech package with only 35k miles for 26k. The car is in CA and I am in Atlanta, so I am thinking of flying out to buy it from a private seller. I think it's a great price. What do you guys think of that deal?

Welcome to IS. Def a hell of a deal on that FX.. Totally go for it.Unless you find a better deal.! Enjoy the site!

welcome to :iS:... i find that having AWD in rain/snow does make a difference... especially rain... all depends on yours tires too... if i lock my car to AWD during rain big difference, snow is trickier probably due to tire and size of rims (input from other IS members)... im guessing AWD will probably pull better... you know, hitch or something

Wow, what a friendly board. I am a BMW fanboy and the fx is for my wife. After test driving one,I liked it so much that I convinced her to buy it. When my 06 550i runs out of CPO warranty I will seriously consider the FX45 for myself. I will be quite active on the board, however, because we will probably swap cars more often now:smile (2):

Welcome to IS.

FWIW, the AWD system on the FX (Atessa-ets) was adapted from the R34 Skyline and switches from 50/50 front/rear bias (from a stop) to 100% RWD at speed when no slip is detected. It's more complex than that but suffice it to say it's no ordinary AWD system...
