Hi all, in the market for an FX

Hi all,

I currently drive a 2004 BMW M3 but need something more family friendly. Once I sell the BMW I'll most likely be buying an FX. I had a 350Z before the M3 and loved it. I'm thinking an earlier model FX45 or FX35 AWD. I love the Brick interior (I have Cinnamon on my M3) and the liquid copper color as well (my Z was Lemans Sunset) but I'm not sure I'd combine the two. I also miss decent parts prices, every time I turn around the M3 wants me to sell another kidney. :err:

Thanks guys.

bleedingsujit, I'm in Leander. Just north of LHS. Is there much of a local FX crowd here?

BxPhillip, any regrets on selling the M3?

That copper one is nice. Not sure about those wheels but definitely a clean car.

Yeah they're definitely nice but I'd probably go with a different spoke style myself. I definitely like the lip! The BBK looks good with the car too. I was just reading turbocad's thread on the FX50 brakes, I'm thinking that'll probably be the first major mod I do.

i am in round rock off of sam bass and fm 1431, i have seen only 1 copper fx here. that was a long time ago, i've been leaving notes on every fx'es i've seen to visit this website without much success. i do see a lot of fx'es around here. donno about a local group, old people aren't up for it i guess.

turbocad's thread is like a drug, you just can't get enough of it, and there's more than enough $hit listed as far as mods go..

I like this one too, since I can't post links yet, eBay 170479864448

Just kidding...

Well I do like the price, color combo, options. The thing needs a detail bad. I love the description. Poor thing has been neglected if you ask me :(. Look at that spare, how long do you suppose they drove on it?

There was a nice '03 Obsidian Black/Brick '45 in the DFW area on AutoTrader but it's not up anymore. 88K miles for $17,650 IIRC but the thing was spotless. No nav/tech on that one though.

this red one off of ebay does need serious detailing. the interior is kinda unusual, didn't expect brick interior on a red fx. you probably could haggle the price down a little more. and if you're serious about it, you should go to Houston and have a look at it. i drove to dallas to get mine.

cant go wrong with a forged wheel and BBK

sure you can. a BBK doesn't necessarily improve stopping distances. If you can engage ABS, your brakes are NOT the problem.

Two main reasons for a BBK: track use and looks. Few FX owners would ever run on the track so its down to looks.

yup i think he was talking about looks and not stop on a dime performance with the combo.

I picked up a Liquid Copper/Graphite '05 FX35 RWD with all the toys on Saturday. One owner, well maintained, 66K on the clock. Very happy with it so far (more like ecstatic). I'll post up a thread with pics when I get the chance. Now to sell the M3!

Congrats on your FX!!!

Welcome to the Scene and check out TXFX regional section. We need to get a meet together one of these days. I think we have close to 20 members between Houston, Dallas & Austin (areas).

Welcome to the family! Maybe when you sell the the M3 you can afford to buy back one of your kidneys...
