Hi all from Seoul Korea...

Hi all, I was actually shopping for rides for about 6 months and reading a lot of forums on the cars I researched...the Infiniti FX45 was actually not on my list since it's really high priced (about $85K fully loaded--and the fully loaded in Korea comes up short to USA's FX) and not too many around in the used department...The dealer I worked with called me up to tell me I had to come and see a car he just brought in..the FX45...after doing a 3 minute google in his office and a test drive...game over....I'm a new FX45'er...I feel great, but unfortunately I felt bad for the car since driving in Seoul is like raising a German Shephard in a 2 bedroom apartment...Hopefully I'll find some strips of road to let the big dog out....Hope to pick your brains for tips/advice..thanks!!...1st question...stock air filters vs K&N or any other suggestions..will need to change air filter and cabin filter soon,. Heard charcoal filters for cabin were good?...thanks again..PS> Regular gas in Korea is currently $6.18/Gallon, 91-94 rating, $6.60 for premium (100 rating)..will I be good with the 91-94 or is 100 overkill?...I'll let you guys know what kind of mileage I get..

Congrats on your new FX! I don't own a 45 but I heard the big girl is really sensitive when it comes to intake filter having oil in it. For in cabin def carbon filter.
For the fuel.. Don't know what to tell you the highest we got in the state is 93 octane.. I guess the highest the better.??! So 100 octane will make that beast fly.. Enjoy it!!

welcome. I am in and out of inchon all the time. only made it into souel once though. I'll keep an eye out for you FX next time i fly through. lol

You might as well use the 100 octane it would be good if you could bump the timing =2 to really feel a difference in an octane that high. Congrats of the FX and good luck!!!

Welcome to the Scene 45er! K&N filter will work just fine as there are no other alternatives for the stock airbox but when you do clean it later on do NOT over oil it as our MAF sensor is very sensitive and oil residue can get to it if there is too much oil on the filter. As for the in-cabin air filter use activated carbon as it does a better job with odor but it also costs 3 times as much. For gas, since regular in Korea has a octane rating of 91 (that is the minimum premium rating in the US) you should be fine using that but the 100 octane premium will give you a nice bump in performance.

I do not know if you know this already but there is a very large FX site on daum in Korea with many FX owners. But I forget the exact website.

Welcome to iS! Are Hankooks cheaper over there?
THe dealer was good enough to put on a full set of fresh tires for me..I looked up the price, Hankook Ventus were about $225/each...(to fit 20" rims)...not sure what they are in the states, but if it's anything like electronics...states will be cheaper..

Thanks for the input on the K&N filter Dr.2K...I assume I just need one box? I see them online for around $40-50...they are asking for $95 here...but I'm not sure if you need 1 or 2....do the K&N filters HAVE to be oiled?...I mean, will they lose their effectiveness if they are "underoiled"...and how would I know how much reoiling is enough?...My car has just under 20K miles on it..dont know much history on the previous owner...dont know if he ran it hard, though i think he did cause the back tires had no tread on em...any suggestions on fuel injector cleaners to add to the fuel tank when i refill...good idea yeah/nay...thanks again!!
