Hey Guys..Just want to intrdocue my self..

The names Rick and NO i dont have a FX yet!..HAHA..My background cosist of Bmw 530i, Acura Integra, Subaru WRX and a DP Infiniti G35 Sedan...

I sold my WRX and only have the BMW 530i (Its For Sale) and the Infiniti G35 Sedan (A KEEPER)

Now im searching for a FX, and prefer the FX45, cause I love the power. I also need the switch over from a pratical car to SUV (car feeling also) because the space for stroller storage, car seats, toys..u catch my drift!..

So I figured why not buy a SUV with the drivability of a car. So the FX is my one and only choice..No questions!..

Now all i need to do is find a FX45 , AWD with Tech Package and DVD System with NO brick interior and all at under 45K miles...

thanks guys..I know this probably has been covered a billion times...But is the 45 worth it over the 35?...Yes im a power hungry feeeeen!

I would never tell anyone not to get an FX but if that's what you're after (space), it's not very roomy back there. I was barely able to fit a stroller and 2 big bags from Babies 'r' us.

agreed . . FX not good for hauling stuff. Car seats OK, & entry good. Rear will hold a stroller fine + a few bags. But not that stuff & a Costco run at the same time. Put it this way, if I do a Costco run in the FX, I use not only the rear cargo, but the rear seating area too.
Have an MDX for the hauling tasks

This topic can go on for ever.

Simple answer is, do you plan on modding or not? 35 shares the same engine as the g and z, so the 35 does have more performance parts available....but, also you will not be faster than a mildly fixed up fx45 even with all the boltons available for the 35. To be faster than a modded 45 you would need Forced Induction of some sort...the 35 does have some F/I kits and the 45 doesn't. Here is a 1/4 mile comparison thread Top 1/4 Mile Times ( FX35, FX45, EX - Bolt-Ons and FI ) - InfinitiScene.com

Also the 35 has AWD and RWD options, the fx45 is only AWD.

& as much as everyone raves about how much more power the 8 has, the 35 (VQ) is a fantastic engine with smooth delivery, good torque & can hold it's own . . & isnt more than a car-length slower in the 1/4.

First off welcome to the Scene, you should be able to find you a good deal at one of the stealer ships, craigs list, carfax or something here in the bay area. I recently saw a 06 35 for 19.5 w/tech pkg. The 45 may be a lil harder to find but good Luck...

+1.. Also, from the practicality point of view, you're not going to race your FX all the time right? I say if you like low end grunt more than revving your engine, get 45. If not, 35 will suit you good enough.

& it doesnt burn oil as freely . . . in the block or out of the tank  . . just in the upper plenum

& isnt more than a car-length slower in the 1/4.

That's the key. The 45 is quicker no doubt, but it appears by very little in real world terms. Just take a look at the 1/4 mile times in the track section as an example. Welcome to the site btw.

:iS::tup:

That's exactly what the FX can be & more.

 That's what happened to me, I originally wanted a G, but I thought that since I just got married the babies could start poppin out, so the FX was a perfect fit.

Yeah true, what you other FXers said. I love the FX but you can't really fit that much junk in the trunk. I heard the cargo area got even smaller for the '09 FX. But it's much better than getting a coupe comparing the space. But i still STRONGLY reccomend you getting the FX.
