Help with iPod

What am I missing? Playing music from my iPod via the connector in th c console. I have 1,500 + songs....any way to search-select other than pressing select button on the steering wheel 1,500 times?

What are you having problems with? Getting the songs to play? Or you want to know how to search?

Yeah, doing a search. The display says like 500/1000 and I have to select next to play selection 501 out if 1000. Basically I can advance or go back one song at a time. If I'm listening to #300 and want to go to song 400 I have to hit the select button 100 times. I would like to be able to see the music and select from a play list or a table of contents.
