Help...Repair small cut in leather

Anyone have experience/advise on repairing a small cut in leather? My console lid has a 1/2 cut, well it looks like a cut because it's straight and barely open. I can push the sides together with my fingers and superglue but thought there may be a better way. May be caused by my elbow resting on the lid. Whatever, want to fix before it gets worse. Comments appreciated.

I've used this for fabric and leather. It works okay, but not a total solution. It's a lot like rubber cement, so if you have some rubber cement around, just use that. I'd use this just so your cut doesn't spread while you shop around for a new cover.
