So im considering plasti dipping the fx now my only concern is the dealer painting it is telling me he has to remove the front lip and rear lip to paint and then reinstalling them. Now they come with the oem double sided tape, he says he will put double sided tape aswell, but is it safe to remove spoiler and then reinstall??

It's safe, just make sure he installs the new tape properly. If you don't get the prep and install right (and sometimes even when you do) it may fail and fall off.

I don't know that I would install over plastidip, I would have concerns about the dip pealing.

Yeah, forgot to clarify, I hope he peels the dip on those sections before reinstalling the lip. You can use double sided tape over a vinyl wrap - I'm doing it right now - but I don't know if it would work on dip.

There is a seam there so I'd guess if he didn't take it off, it would cause a problem and the dip would tear/peel. Just like you wouldn't paint the car with the lip installed or vinyl wrap a car with the lip installed.

depending on the seam I guess, but if it's close enough, plasti dip can seal it.

Are those lips really only held on there with double sided tape?

They have a few mounting screws along the very bottom and a couple of screws on the end caps by the wheel lip on each end.

Thx for the heads up i didnt even think about that i thought the tape will go over the dip paint...do you recommend of any brand of tape to use after removing the lip ?
