Help. My gas tank will not open.

For some strange reason my gas tank will not open. I tried for 3 hours yesterday and still stuck. I know that the doors need to be unlock so that is not the issue, any suggestions?

It was snowing in nyc yesterday, I'm not too sure if the snow or cold temp had anything to do with it.
 
The actuator might have went bad that happened to me and I had to replace it.
 
Ok thanks. I been searching it all day on the net and that's the only thing I can think of that is causing the issue. Was it expensive to fix?
 
Haven't checked on the 2nd gens but the 1st gens have an access point in the cargo area on the same side as the gas cap.

Should be the same for alot of vehicles. I would check the cargo area behind any access panels
 
Seems odd a 2010 FX would have this issue soon. Is the battery life ok on the key? Try it with your spare?

I think I paid like $118 for it and I installed it myself, it was pretty easy.
