To each their own but the majority of members advise against 24's due to rough ride and possibility of dented rims due to bad road conditions. Not too many members with 24's though. A few members have them and I believe one or two members have dented them too. But like I said to each their own.

it would be interesting to see 24" on the 2nd FX. But tire size is a big concern. The tire profile will be smaller to account for the wheel diameter compared to a OEM size rim tire combo

I am not too worried about keeping the OD in check for the speedo. BUt for summer i'd like 24" well the wife wants 24's. I was thinking 22" would be just right. If you guys can give some advice for 22's i might be able to convince her

no no no, wheel well space is one of the most unattractive thing on a car. trust me, when your at a red light and someone pulls up next to you on 24s, you'll be glad you got em......22s are the new 20's (they look small even on chargers)......i have 24 inch edge hype wheels on my 05 FX, they are wrapped in 265/30/r24 and the ride is not bad at all, and i live in center city philly! (potholes everywhere)

go big big big....

Ive got an 09 as well, im running 295/35/24 on my giovanna dalars (24x9.5) with no clearance issues. Id love to get some pics up but i dont have enough posts yet.

I've got 22" Gianelle's and am always doubting to go 24" if i ever sell my current wheels i'll probably go bigger as well.

Jonny917 is just ahead of me with advising to look at the giovanna / gianelle website. They really have great wheel designs...!!
Really love the Dalars as well....espeially in Matt Black.

Good luck with your decision :tup:

as long as the thread is still alive when i reach my 10 posts, ill post up some pics to help your decision go in the right direction.

24's = looks
22's = looks/performance
20's - = performance

unless you buy cheap wheels that are heavy....

if you go for 24's you'll lose a considerable amount of performance comfort (handling and loss of speed, unl;ess you get expensive lightweight multi-peice forged), you can't make the fx lower unless you do other custom work to make it work properly, plus you can damage the wheels more easily.....
(plus since you're paying don;t listen to the WIFE, do what you want to ...22's)

if you go 22's, there will be barely any loss in comfort or performance compared to the 24's, you'll still be able to lower the FX without any other modifications (depending on how wide the tires are), and you will have a bit more tire than the 24's so less likely to get as damaged from road conditions.....

in my opinion, I would use the money from getting 24's and get some lightweight 22's, and lower the FX....you will not lose the performance, youll be able to lower it so it's not as high as a tahoe, and there will be a significantly less amount of gap between the fender and the tire..... I have 20's and there's only about 3-4 fingers' worth of space between the tire and the wheel well.... so think about how much you want to spend first, then go from there.
on the other hand, if you don't care about performance or handling (why get an fx then?) or lowering the FX at all, and you just want some Ballin' wheels, go get some 24's...

my opinion...go for the 22's

one thing i would say is if your going to take your car in to the dealer for service stick to 22"

There are two things I don't like on 24s (apart from a greater chance to damage them):

1) The wheel well gap looks even bigger with 24s. Just H&Rs or Eibachs won't cut it. You'll need to lower it more to get a better look
2) Your brakes will look sooo tiny in those, even with the Akebonos you have on your 50.

I'd personally prefer a wide (10"+ wide) 22" set than a 24" set. Get some H&Rs, do the strut mod that John (TurboCad) did in his FX and it'll look awesome. Oh btw, I see that you don't have any springs yet. Don't ever get 22s or 24s without lowering. It'll look seriously jacked up.

chedman, thats my car...check the sig. i will be getting more/better pictures up soon.

EG3, yes my brakes look tiny especially with my particular wheel but the wheel gap looks smaller, almost like its dropped becuse of the oversized tire im running that fills in the wheel well gap so well.

just staay with 22" to be on the safe side plus if you go with the 24's your going to get reall thin tires and if you go over some ditches or w.e our gonna damage the rim so better be safe then sorry

Lol at high as a Tahoe. Coming from someone who parks next to one every day, the FX was never near that height, even jacked up.
