I have a 2007 Fx35 that has been VERY well maintained by dealership. My goal is to get it to 300k miles. I am at 285k miles and have driven it 17 years. I have every service record.
6 months ago I had the coil packs, spark plugs, and valve cover gaskets replaced. Within 2 weeks I experienced a slightly rough idle and check engine codes of P0300. It goes on and off. when the check engine light is off it idles normally. when it is on my RPM is 1100.
My dealership mechanic diagnosed it as a blown head gasket because small signs of coolant fluid leaking into cylinder 4.
It still drives great. everything works. it just idles very slightly rough. Just enough to make my Starbucks drink have little ripples on the surface.
Do y'all think I can still get to 300k? should I keep driving it or should I start shopping for a new car now?
Thank you all for your help! I can provide photos and measurements if it's helpful.
