Hello

Hey guys, I've been a member for about a year but never posted. Whenever I would hear some useful info worthy of being shared... I would always come to see one of you guys knew it first. I logged on today to update my profile with the 6k hids and led drls, but I'm frustrated at the same time. My drls look great and the hids do too, but behind the wheel I see MAYBE 30% of what I saw with the factory lights. They are Bosch lights so I assumed they would be blinding, but sadly, they are not. Any suggestions, drop a line. Oh yeah, thanks again too Chedman, my intake sounds sick. We got our axis wheels through the same guy and spring is right around the corner. Seeing those boxes containing my black 22 inch Titans is pure torture. Daily torture. On deck, the angel eyes. They are built, painted black in the housing and ready to go.

Hi Danny and welcome to the Scene! Glad to see you finally posted =)

In regards to the light output of your 6k HID's, are you saying you see 30% less light output or ONLY 30 light output? I'm guessing you meant 30% less. In any case, the light output will diminish when going to higher kelvin rated bulbs. Higher kelvin doesn't mean more light output, it just means higher light color. The stock bulbs which are rated at 3800k will give the most lumens which equates to more light output.

Another thought maybe that you may possibly need to adjust the light height level.

Welcome to IS (kinda)
To answer your question about the lights......It shouldnt be too bad with the 6000K Bulbs. Yes Your gonna lose light when you go up on kelvins, the blue'er the light the less brightness your gonna get.

Heres a chart that Krayzie posted just to give ya an idea

I have the 8000K and they look great, but I lost a lot of visibility.

Welcome to the Scene! you really have a great mod list going. regarding your lights, you have 6000K correct? with my 6000K i think i have a lot more visibility compared to the stock lights. it might be the brand of the lights though, i'm not sure. i also used to have 8000K lights but the visibility was too low so i went back to stock before getting the 6000K bulbs.

Haha i think everyone on the east-coast is waiting for spring to arrive, im sure we all got plenty of mods ready to go!

:iS:

Thanks for all the info guys. I think I'm going to add the HID fog lights. Is it possible I received a bad set lights? From behind the wheel, I see the factory fog lights shine about 15 feet in front of me. Honestly, with out the fog lights I see next to nothing./Users/danny/Pictures/iPhoto Library/2008/03/02/get-attachment.aspx.jpeg

You may need to adjust the headlight level. Easy to do, just open the hood and on top of the headlight area you will see an opening that fits a Hex driver. Just turn it to adjust the height of the headlight.

If anyone reads this, I put my lights in upside down. Laugh all you want, But in my defense... I was doing it blind, by feeling not seeing. We came to that realization while transferring my bulbs from the stock housings to the painted housings. Both sets were off the car at the time, and it was easy to see the thread was facing the wrong direction. Now... they blind people. I still need to go back under the hood and redirect them. They're too high. Thanks again for everyones help.
