There is a Hello World thread somewhere on this site and I have no idea if it's a nod to Tiger Woods' "Hello World" speech back in 1996, but I'll use it here in reference to my 'coming out' as an FX owner (with a small tie to the golf world).
I have been lurking here, even as a non member, since January 2011. I finally bit the bullet in April 2011 to purchase my baby. It is a 2006 Liquid Platinum FX35 RWD Tech/Touring package w/ Wheat interior.
I also work in the Film/TV industry as a Steadicam Operator, most frequently with the Golf Channel among other networks, hence the golf reference (and license plate which spawned the profile pic). Before I committed to TV, I dabbled in an Automotive Industrial Technology concentration, where I rebuilt a Dodge Stratus engine and transmission for 20psi of boost. So despite my efforts, modding the FX is beyond my control. Though, I'm trying to be a bit more classy this time around.
I have a small knowledge of video technology and access to some high end equipment given my profession (a bit of sarcasm there). I also know a bit about audio formats and conversion quality too. Needless to say, I feel most comfortable around the Audio/Video/Electronics forums.
My immediate plans for my FX were some subtle exterior improvements (sport tails, signal mirrors, window tint match). With that behind me, I'm looking to complete a custom Kuda/DICE iPhone dock-to-audio/video interface. The way I want to implement this is something that has never been done on a 03-08 FX to date, so I've been documenting everything and plan to release a detailed how-to on InfinitiFX (dot) org when I'm done. After some luxury upgrades from KP Technologies, I am pursuing the Nav conversion documented on the .org, for which I have already built a few wiring harnesses.
I have some plans, this place is a great resource, and I hope to collaborate with the knowledgeable people in the community and do some innovating myself. I'm open to automotive, television, and sports commentary as well.
So in the sincere words of Tiger Woods, "I don't get to live by different rules. The same boundaries that apply to everyone, apply to me." (a speech which I was present for).
Really what I'm asking is: Can someone comment on this so I can comment back and get past that damned 10 post count rule?!
