2010 FX35 AWD
Hey guys,

I've been checking out the forum for the past few days now and I finally got myself a 2004 FX35 AWD. It took me a while because I was having a lot of frustrations with the dealer, I was almost to the point of walking away but after the drive home, I'm glad I didn't (hopefully that'll hold up). I had a Toyota Celica GTS before the FX but because of the winter weather here in MN and the ride height of the car, I just had to let it go :frown:... I haven't gotten pictures of the FX yet (plus I need 10 post counts I guess...) I'll get some good ones when some time comes around. I've seen some of the things you guys have done to your FX's and they look pretty sweet, can't wait until I start modding mine too :laugh:.
 
Thanks guys! I was wondering, do a lot of lowering springs for the FX require new shocks? On the Celica I had, I lowered it with Tein S-techs and that lowered it just enough that I didn't need to replace my stock shocks.
 
Welcome to the forum! No shocks required for lowering springs. If you are over 60K you MIGHT consider dropping in new shocks.......However, once you get into springs and shocks and IF you can swing it financially you might want to check out the options we now have available in coilovers. I recently installed BC's and I have been very happy with them, ride quality is excellent and height adjustability is hard to beat. Probably 5-6 members now running them with no complaints.
 
Thanks Logan, my FX just passed the 60K mark. I was looking into coilovers also for the easy height adjustments.
 
What are some of the things you guys do to save on gas cause I'm not use to this much gas drainage. Also what brand of engine oil do you guys use? When I had the celica it was always Mobile1 fully synthetic and Mobile1 oil filter. Would fully synthetic be good for the FX??
 
fully synthetic is good for the FX, mobil 1 0W30 and mobil 1 filter should be fine, as for gas, premium, PERIOD, take the extra weight off from the car, no lead foot please and keep your car maintained. What mpg do you get anyways? new shocks and springs/coilovers will make your ride feel like new, you should notice big difference.
