Hey, just thought I'd stop in and introduce myself. My wife and I just picked up an '04 FX35 (Sport, Tech, as far as I know, all options), and so far, we're loving it to death! Unfortunately though, I had to trade in my baby... pics of both below.
Here I am thinking that I'm gonna like having this to drive :.smile:

BTW, I've searched InfinitiPartsUSA, and I can't seem to locate the brushed aluminum panel that surrounds the shifter...Ours has some dents in it that I'd like to remove... Any idea what it's called and if it can be replaced?

Actually, it has 80,000 miles :eek: My wife had a G35 before our son was born, and I'm not afraid to have a high mileage Infiniti. My MINI had 125K on it, and ran perfectly (about 60K were with mods galore, and flogged on a regular basis :rofl:). I haven't even had a chance to detail it yet. Waiting for a few good days (rain is supposed to be non-stop for like the next week....). Thanks for the comment, though :tup:

While I'm thinking of it, does your MES player spit out the DVD thats in it when you shut your car down? When we picked up the car, the rear entertainment center wouldn't power up, but after pulling a couple of fuses, it started to work. Then I noticed if I shut the car off, it spits out the DVD... I find it interesting. Didn't know if this was normal or not.

Welcome to the Scene! Congrats on the FX. Nice looking mini and looks like you had a lot of fun with it at the track. As far as the rear entertainment system I don't think its normal for the dvd to be ejected when the car is shut off. Is this the infiniti system or a aftermarket? I don't have the RES so I can't be sure but I'm sure someone here has one and will chime in.

Thanks! Yeah, I miss it a bunch. It basically was a street-legal kart :.smile: I plan on being back in one someday (that or a Lotus).
 
Welcome! and congrats on the FX. Too bad you couldnt keep both. Thats a great lookin MINI you had there. We just bought my wife an '09 S and loves it. Im glad she didn't get the justacooper, but she wont let me do anything to it besides wash it :laugh:

Haha:laugh:. I like the R56's, they offer so much, but some there were some things about the R53's that I liked a little bit more. The new turbo's are making some nice power :tup: (but there's nothing like that Eaton supercharger sound :biggrin:)

:laugh: I would love too, but I don't think my wife would go for it. She wants it left untouched. Which has me thinking.

1. Is there a good iPod mount for the FX? I had a Kuda Mount in my MINI, and it was rock solid.
2. Is there a software out there that would take readings from the OBD2, and display them on the stock NAV screen so you could monitor the car?

I have a software (REV) that displays on my iPod Touch, but I was thinking something a little bigger and more in the line of my eyes....
