Hello from Houston TX (FX35 RWD)

Hey everyone. New to this forum but not forums in general. Currently own a 2007 nissan 350z NA. Nismo exhaust, Motordyne XYZ pipe, berk test pipes, Osiris dyno tune and flash, and Forgestar F14 wheels. Just bought an 08 FX35 RWD and Absolutely love it. The VQ engine has always been a favorite for me.

Already looking at what to get done to the FX. Since I've had it 1 week ive already got darker tint 20% front and 5% rear, escort radar and blendmount. Looking at changing out stock intake tube for a Z tube and MD 5/16 spacer off a 350z DE engine.

Any recommendations on what parts will work off a 350z/g35 for the 08 FX35?

Welcome to iS! Exhaust will work but the tips will need to be extended as well extending the mid pipe a bit. Any of the engine mods will work as they are the same engine.
 
Sup Moose?!? Welcome to the scene! Glad to have another Houston member join up - we have a pretty decent representation around here now. Check out our regional section TXFX for meets and whatnot.

I've done pretty much everything that can be done to the FX, as have a couple other members here on the scene (check out the garage section). Happy to help out or answer anything I can in your quest to mod and I hope you'll come out to a local meet sometime.
 
Sup, Moose! Welcome to iS! I'm from Houston as well.. actually the Sugar Land/Richmond part but same thing lol hope you find what you're looking for!

Oh and I think I'm the only 06' black FX35 with a gold trim in the Houston area...
 
Thanks everyone. Im usually at the big car meets around Houston like PZ, IFO, Urban Speed, Cars and Coffee, etc. Most of the time ill be in my 350z but ill keep eye out for the local FX meets.
 
MOOSE! I guess your avatar name is fun to say....welcome to iS, have fun building the FX, it's a great ride and iS a great forum.
 
All the FX's from houston need to roll out to the PZ: Access Zero meet on the 23rd. Starts usually around 7pm and lasts for a couple hours. Pretty cool scene with a bunch of tricked out imports. My 350z crew rolls pretty deep.
 
nice i have the blendmount and escort 9500i in my fx.. saves me all the time.

did my tint the same as well. z tube is a nice upgrade.. do it.

im sure you know about jtran's shop.. lots of cool vq action there!

Yea ive heard about jtran. Heard good and bad but thats not up for discussion.

I usually do my own work with friends. We have a master tech at Clear Lake Nissan who does all of the more daunting work. Only person who touches my Z. Pretty sure it will be the same song for the FX as well lol. Im a picky mofo and want my stuff done right the 1st time.

I've hit a few Planet Zero meets and plan to be there again on the 23rd. If we get some other FXs to go to this meet, I'm there. If not I might show up with the Miata instead.

I can recommend both Jtran and Powerfab as I have used them both for my FX. Nothing beats the experience in those shops and you can make sure it is done right by staying involved with whatever they are doing for you. Glad you have a tech hook-up though. Most of the Infiniti techs don't impress me at all. Some of them straight up scare me.

At this point I don't have much in the way of OEM parts so I'm married to the shops for tuning and warranty repairs. Everything else I do in my own garage with ramps, jack stands and a creeper.

Werd! If you see a red 350z on black 19s thats probably me there. Cant miss it. Running a 295 tire on the rear. Im usually one of the only red 350z there only because there arent that many red 350z. Ive have heard good things about powerfab. Both of those shops are too far north for me tho. If I have to do custom tuning or anything custom outside the dealership it goes to Secret Services Auto.
