Hello Folks! FX35 mpg Problem

Greetings. My 2005 FX35 rwd has recently (last 2 wks) had a marked drop in mpg. From ~20.5 to 16.5. No check engine lite. No codes stored. I don't think this is the usual obvious stuff (tire pressure, air filter, plugs, etc). It just happened too quickly. It starts and runs just fine. It could be the gas gauge, sender, computer, etc. sending the wrong info to the screen. Any ideas? Anyone experienced this problem. Thanks.
 
Did u start driving in the city more. VERY drastic change between city and highway. I get 14/23 with semi lead foot
 
Tnx for reply. Nothing has changed. It's very strange. It's always been 21/20 on the display. Heeeelp!

Do an old school check of actual fuel milage to check actual miles per gallon and eliminate fuel level sensors.---Top off your tank note odometer reading. Next fill note odometer reading and subtract it from previous odometer reading and then divide by gallons put in tank to top off.
