Hi I'm Gerald, recently bought a 2003 fx45. I have been admiring fxs' from afar for years now, finally decided at 60 that its now or never. My plan was to look for a later model first gen with low miles and most importantly "no rust". After looking at and driving the 03 though I was impressed at how well it drove and the shape it's in. And of course I was able to get for a lot less than the pristine later models are selling for. It's got 250,000 km's on it but runs and shifts beautifully, she does have a few issues but I am a DIY guy and my brother is a mechanic so I'm happy to handle minor issues and leave the big ones to my mechanic. The original owner had a Final Coat anti-rust module installed on it which I can only assume was instrumental in helping it survive 14 Canadian winters so well!
Would like to say I am looking forward to gleaning lot's of good info here to help me keep this baby on the road for several (with a little luck) years to come...
