Heated Seat warm-up time?

just tested out the heated seats the other day on the way to work. this is the first car i've owned with this option and i was really looking forward to using it once the weather got cool. my commute is about 10 minutes or more, and i didnt really notice any heat. it got a little warm but it could have been from my body heat? is the seat and backrest supposed to get warm or just they backrest?? thanks BB

the seat and the lower part of the backrest get warm. Also make sure you have it on HIGH and not LOW. I use mine here in Boston and it takes close to 15 minutes on high to feel it when it gets really cold out.

They do seem like they take a while to warm up. On low it will take me about 15 min to feel anything and on high maybe the same, just warmer.

If you press the switch at the top, that is high.

If you press the bottom, that is low.

Mine is pretty quick either way. About 5-8 minutes.
well, mine goes left and right. it has two lines, one is a little bit longer so i assume the longer one is high. my tahoe said Hi and LO, good ole american simplicity right there.

well when it gets below freezing overnight, and your car has been sitting out all night, then i'd say you need them. i never had time to let my car warm up. i remember barely being able to drive because it was so damn cold. actually one time my washer fluid froze on my windshield when i was on my way to an early practice at like 5:30 in the morning. that was sure fun.

thats funny, i'll be outside washing my car in a t-shirt in 45 degree weather, and you guys are using heated seats. i dont even break out the winter coat until below freezing.

I know. Well here is FL it is very nice now. The humidity is also low which is a shocker.
I am used to the cold but this chill gives me an excuse to wear my leather jacket. :)

It warms up pretty quick, like in a minute your back and seat can warm up alot. I think the smaller line is for low on the backrest and seat, and the large line is for high just for the seat.

Agreed, I've owned an Acura CL type S and an M3. both have had awsome heated seats. The best were in the BMW. They heat the seat all the way up to the neck. My Acura heated just the seat bottom up to the mid back for the drivers side and just the seat bottom for the passenger. The bmw seats were instantly hot and actually a bit too hot.
