Yeah, I am but just the driver side. The claims adjuster is willing to pay the full $1600 for the oem which is nutz. It's my insurance company but not their fault or mine so I'm gonna do what I can to save them money BUT I do not want garbage on my FX, like ill-fitting aftermarket bumpers and headlights.
My headlights are...I mean were perfect. Replaced under recall 1/2 a dozen years ago and sealed to keep'em that way. I think I'll ask the shop to buy this one from ebay. The seller said they are 100% legit original equipment, brand new, made in Japan but without the ballast for $242.
Certi-fit, or Auto-fit are here in TX. I’ve bought from them before.
Save about 65-75%, new in the box, no fitment issues so far. Maybe I’m just lucky.
I don’t work for them, a salvage yard friend of mine sent me to Auto fit, now I check them first.
I'll check that out. I wrote "my fault" above and edited that shit. Definitely not my fault. Last time I had an accident was also in a parking lot and not my fault. I wasn't even in the damn car. Thanks to some bystanders who wrote the little bit....I mean females plate # down and called the cops, my insurance didn't come into play. Oh yeah, daddy paid for that cause he didn't want their insurance to get notified of a hit and run.
I have spare headlights bc I owned a 2008 fx35 and replaced them for the smoked out ones. So when I traded the fx35 for a 2012 fx the dealer wanted the smoked out headlights. So I kept the other ones
Ah. Just curious. I figured the reason was something like that.
Yeah, if they're really really really ridiculously clean I'd like to see some pics and how much you want for them. These plastic headlights are so easy to beat up that I'm hesitant to buy used cause it's hard to make out imperfections in pics online but I am willing to consider. Worst case scenario, I don't buy them but now you've got pics and can get'em up on ebay and put some $ in your pocket instead of useless spare on your shelf.
I think these Ebay joints are good to go. I've asked other questions prior to the answers they gave below. Brand new headlight for $242 shipped. Not too shabby. New message from: nosautomotive
(4,973) Thank you for your questions. We get our inventory from various suppliers, all of which we have been dealing with for quite some time.
The FX light is genuine OEM, not aftermarket. And yes, there are many aftermarket look a likes out there. This particular light does not include the module so it is less expensive then ones that do. eBay item number 281772816428 is a complete light.
The hosing and lens surface are in excellent condition.
The lights are not in their original OEM packaging because we repackage all our orders to insure they all reach the buyer in the same condition it was purchased.
Any other questions please feel free to ask.
It looks like some tape residue or something on the headlight in photo 2, on the part of the lens covering the lamp. Can't tell if it's on the outside or inside of the lens or if it's a reflection of something. What's your price?
