Headlight noise

Its been happening for the past month the auto leveling for the headlight is not working it makes a ticking noise pretty loud from the outside, if I keep it in the 'center' like in the middle of 1 and 2 the noise goes away but on any other number it makes the noise. I checked the wiring and everything seems fine but it is def. coming from the headlight on the driver side specifically. There is also the heat and A/C issue if I turn it on the noise comes on. I just don't get why the headlight makes the noise when my heat and A/C is on. Anybody have any idea why this might be happening ? I was almost confident it was the wiring but everything is plugged in correctly and all the lights work perfectly fine. I'll try to get a video uploaded of the ticking noise. It's so embarrassing when I have my heat on at a red light, lol

The ticking noise from the headlight is from the little motor in a grey cover. The gear must have stripped or it not catching. Was there any impact to the headlight area? I really don't see a reason for the gear to slip unless there is wiring issues that causing the motor constantly running, but that would have affected the headlight levels though. There is a electrical connector to the motor, disconnect that to see if the noise goes away. Now turn on the the heat and AC to see if the noise gone.

I was hit from the back around a year ago, and had the body shop guys install my black headlights on for me, I looked at it this morning the noise is coming from that gray cover you were mentioning. Tried to pull it off but couldn't get it loose, lol. I'll try again later tonight to see if something happens. I forgot to mention that I did adjust my headlight level manually a few months back, would that be an issue if I want to reset it back so the headlight leveler works again ?

edit: The gray thing to the left of the headlight bulb area is the one ticking *

Yep that's the motor. Manual adjusting by turning the white knob on top of the grey motor housing should not have cause the problem. As I recall, there are tabs/clips on each sides and top of the housing, just need a small flat head and lightly pry at each to release the clips and then just gently wiggle the motor from the headlight. I have not seen just the motor alone on ebay.

A bit late on the reply, but I just eventually unpluged the wire that goes to the motor it seems that if I pull back on the motor the click stops, thanks Andy for the advice, and Viperi for the offer I should be okay. But if it goes wrong and I did want to change it I know the person to go to !
This is exactly why I love Infiniti scene so much !!

i have this same fricken problem. my entire driver side projector is wobbling. any suggestions?

If the projector is wobbling it has probably come out of one of the plastic retainers, you would have to open up the headlight to fix that
