Headlight ballast

Hi guys I had an experience with my fx recently and wanted to share. A few months ago a deer ran into the right front fender on my fx took out the headlght assembly fender and some damage down the side . My headlight was working but the lens was cracked, after a few weeks and some rain it stopped working. Body guy fixed everything and a new hid bulb wouldn't do it. I didn't want to buy a new balla$t so I was reading u could dry them out I gave it a try. Needed a special torx but I opened balla$t used a heat gun a slowly dried it out you. Could see the moisture inside and I just took my time and dried it out. I put it back. In and the lights workin good! Just thought I pass it on apparently they put a security torx on it too keep us out so we could buy a new one. Sorry no pic but its self expanitory

Damn and I just got a ballast from ebay

I've done it a couple times now too when my lenses weren't sealed up good and they had a small leak. As long as the crack got sealed up you'll be fine. If it's still leaking it'll happen again though.

Yes I replaced the broken lens and fender so all good, sorry Leeo but that's exactly why I posted $o we can $ave when we can DIY!
