Headlight ballast transfer

I'm trying to install new headlight assemblys in an 05 FX35. when I went to transfer the ballast I discovered a large braided wire on it that looks like its hard wired. I don't see any way to transfer it and the new assembly doesn't have the wire. Am I missing something?

The cable plug into the ballast and it held down by a metal cable clip with a small phillips screw.
