Im thinking of getting the headers for my ride, can somebody help me which would be a nice one to get and how much HP would I gain?? Is it hard to install them?? Does it make a loud noise?? cause where im from, headers are illegal as long as it does not make a loud noise..thx in advance..:smile:
 
It will get louder - trust me.
But Nismo are best design, but they cost an arm & leg.
I dont think you'd pass the visual part of the smog test either.
Not sure if they still do the visual......:confused:
 
Not sure about the smog test but the sound goes deeper and significantly louder in the higher revs. It's not absurdly loud though.. It becomes a more exotic deeper sound. I didn't dyno my fx yet but you'll definitely feel the increased power after 3500-4000 rpms. With nismos you should feel it even lower as they're using different diameters in their headers.

Does the 350Z nismo headers fit into FX35 with no headaches??
looks nice but hows the performance??:confused:

headers will give you a really big bump in your midrange power, hp and tq.

the nismo's fit, and are arguably the best headers for the VQ engine but they are very expensive.

as alternatives look at dc headers, strup, and topspeed. they all have a similar design and are a lot cheaper. the nismo headers are a few hundred bucks more, but i dont know and dont really think they are a few hundred bucks better :neutral:
 
Crawford makes good headers for the VQ as well.

I have TopSpeed headers, I like 'em. I have an exhaust leak though that I need to take care of. Going back to stock cats and muffler, so shortly I'll have ONLY the headers.

My TS headers will probably end up re fabricated for some extra air flow pretty soon... :wink:
 
will g headers fit an fx? stillen has fx ss headers at over a grand & g ss headers under $700?? how different can they be?

also, will hfc for a g fit the fx?

wow, how can that be? I just spoke to stillen & opened a wholesale account, I was quoted a wholesale price on the fx ss headers at $851.76.... very strange...

I just checked, they are different part #'s, how sure are you they will fit the same?

The Strup headers I have are off an 350Z- :eek:
 
like what? I guess the nismo's are the best?

I was thinking of just ordering the stillen exhaust & getting it over with & I thought of just getting the headers from them too. makes you think twice of even dealing with a company that'll rip you off like that really...
 
Nismo/Crawford IMO are the best, but i believe crawford said their headers will not fit our FX's. i would look at; Nismo, Strup, Topspeed, DC, etc. other than the nismo these all have a similar construction. you can get the Strup's brand new for $445 shipped i believe from the vendors on g35driver.com
 
+1 on the Nismo.....

But for the price - the Stillens arent too bad, but like you said, who wants to deal with a company that takes advantage like that. I believe Ege has stillen headers. he might be able to chime in here.
 
wow, the nismo's are a fortune... I just want a really good header that won't leak or have any fitment issues, I think I'm going to wrap them anyway... are any better choices than others for FI ?

I'm thinking the stillen exhaust because of the true 2.5 dual & the x pipe & resonator setup, it's very close to what I would build myself & for around a grand I think it's gonna be my choice, much cheaper than building my own... I think I'm going to ask the rep tommorow what the difference is between the 2 just to see what he says, but I'll bet that he'll say there are small fitment differences, wonder if he'll admit that the g can be used though... also wonder how much the g's are wholesale:tongue:
 
so are you our new stillen dealer...
and will... any issues with passing smog here in so cali with the headers?? i know i can get it to 'pass' smog but that can be a headache and costly

Havent to get checked yet.......but im sure I'd have to do it YOUR way
