What is the best way to get the passenger side lower rear nut off of the header stud?

I am stuck! Do I need a mid size thin shoulder 14mm socket. I hope the local parts store has whatever it is I need.

TIA

TurboCad should know.. I believe he did his headers himself.. Most of the rest of us got it done in a shop I believe..

A few of the nuts are very tight to get off with the motor in the car. Open ended wrenches are helpful vs sockets. a 1/4 14mm socket is probably thin walled enough to get around a flange but you got no torque vs a 3/8 or 1/2 drive.

I gave up. I will just find a local shop to do it. What is the going rate for a shop to install?

At least I got to put on my Y-pipe. Had to add back a 1/2 gallon of anti-freeze too.

O' and I got to buy more tools

I paid 6 hrs labor for the installation. If you get Strup or DC headers for a good price (less than $600), I think paying for 6 hours labor is worth it. One thing for sure, the FX sounds like a real race engine with headers and it opens up good after 3500 rpms.

I've been driving around with my headers in the hatch, haven't had the time to install them yet, gotta find a big enough time slot to do them where I'll be able to finish & drive it home that night. allen bolts would def make life easier... most other cars I've installed headers there have been specific header bolts, usually a much smaller head or an allen key...
