Head Unit stops working

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a 2003 Canadian spec tech package. Love the car however I've recently ran into some radio issues. I did a search but didn't have much luck finding previous threads outlining the problem.

The problem I'm experiencing is the head unit and buttons don't seem to work after I've shut my car off. I find that if I disconnect the battery and reconnect it, that'll get everything working fine again, until the next time I shut off the car and turn it on. It's a hit or miss whether the head unit will function the next time I start the car after I've shut it off. Regardless, unplugging the battery and reconnecting it seems to always solve the issue. A/C and heat controls all work fine, just the radio ones aren't responsive. This only happens when I shut the car off and start it again.

That sure is something new I have not heard of on this forum. I would check the two connections on the back of the heating/cooling/radio panel. Pry on the drive side with your fingers or plastic trim tool. Once the panel is off, take a look at the ribbon and the white plastic connections, and making sure they're properly connected tightly.
