Was driving to my friends and noticed my windshield wipers were going slower than normal and 5 minutes later my car wouldn't move. Engine stayed running but when i pressed the gas nothing, engine wouldn't even rev. Put the car in neutral and it revved fine but in drive nothing. Was able to coast to a parking spot. Went to buy tranny fluid but when i checked the fluid after it was full, it was very dark like motor oil but was full. About an hour or so later the car drove fine. While coasting the slip/vdc all the lights pretty much came on including battery. Recently changed battery and alternator too. ll lights are off now.Two weeks earlier driving to my cousins the wipers were slow but drove fine. When i parked my car the seat belt light stayed on after car was parked turned off and key out of the ignition. Is there a short somewhere? Could the bad tranny fluid cause the problem? I'm at 120K Miles and haven't done the drain and fill yet. Going to do the tranny drain and fill Monday. Any help or suggestions is appreciated

Almost sounds like you went into limp mode, but with all the other weird shit, sounds like you have an electrical gremlin... Any mice in/near your garage?

I park in a parking lot across from where i live. There's racoons, mice, squirrels and skunks. So who knows. But i did just have my plenum taken apart to change some gaskets. Could they have messes up a ground or anything? So is that limp mode i was in? Everything pretty much works but if you press the gas it doesn't rev?

I would check your plenum first... I remember someone having a weird problem they had a tough time diagnosing and it ended up being the gasket in their plenum was slightly damaged and let air in (I can't remember why that person had their plenum apart, but it was probably for an upgrade)... Bought a new gasket and everything was good again...

But it's your other issues that make me kinda think you might have had a rodent bite through some wires... If you're lucky, it almost sounds like you just have a grounding issue, but it could also be something worse... Take a bright light and carefully inspect your engine bay and underneath to see if anything plastic has been chewed on... That would be the best way to start...

Ok i'll check that. For some reason i think it's a wire or ground problem. Car is driving perfectly fine but in the back of my mind i'm scared it'll go in limp mode again
